We tend to have role models at different stages in our lives. Thinking back, what role model most impacted your life? I always wanted to be like "Gidget" from the TV show back in the 60's. She al ways seemed like she had a fun life. In my 20's and my 30's, my role model was the singles pastor at my church. He was instrumental in directions for my life. A parental figure that I could count on. Now, I have several role models as I admire different aspects of their life but, I know we can guide others but putting people on a pedestal is not wise.

For me it is people like Oprah and Dolly Parton. Women who have been poor and became successful. I admire them both.

I loved Gidget. She seemed to be living a life that seemed a lot of fun. But that's tv for you. Not reality for everyone. I loved the Beach Party movies with Frankie and Annette. Remember Eric Von Zipper. He was hysterical.

My role model is Sir Charlie Chaplin but I dont worship him.
I believe - if we want to worship some personality, we should worship inherent qualities and not the person himself.

I agree that we concentrate on the qualities not the person. And also to separate the person from the public image. Everybody is human and their public image may be nothing like the person.
