Has my dog learnt to lie?

I'm always amazed by her, by her intelligence. She is able to figure things out, and one of thing things she figured out was, well, how to steal her dog food when it's put away.
But now something more interesting has happened.
Tonight I was trying to get her ready for her night walk, and she was laying down and she put her paw in front of her nose and eyes.
She was pretending to sleep!
She wasn't doing a really great job of it, because I could see her eyes slightly open and watching me to see if I would leave her be.
I'm annoyed with her but also so impressed at this kind of intellect.
Bad dog? Um, bad amazing dog!
But still bad dog.
Eh, I guess she didn't have to go out, so after a while I just let her sleep.

@HebrewGreekStudies I should have asked before. What kind of dog is she? I used to have a male Shih Tzu and his name was Chico. When I had him I got a lot of exercise as he loved to go out and run.

@totobasso she's a yellow lab-we used to have huskies before, as dogsledding was the family business. But this dog, in particular, when we got her she was almost starving and more or less wild-she was a rescue dog and not cared for at all. I'm actually amazed that she is so well behaved now, aside from her learning to steal her food...sadly I think she remembers what hunger was.

Hahaha! I love it! She is adorable, is what she is, and it was kind of you to let her believe she had convinced you she was sleeping @HebrewGreekStudies . :-D
