Everyone should respect the farmers by not wasting food.
They sweat, and toil under the sun for months to grow the crops that you can enjoy.
When you do not finish all your food, or let your food goes to waste, that is a lack of respect to the hardworking farmers.
You hate it when your boss rejects your hard work.
When you work for a week to produce a report, and your boss just reads for five minutes, and delete the report, you will be very sad and disappointed.
That is the report that you work on for a week only.
The farmers work for months, and months to get the food for you.
That is why never waste food. Never buy more than you need, and never waste whatever you have bought.

I think it is a good idea to respect for farmers. Yes, they work hard for crops. I also respect them. But I think it is very little people that think like you. I proud of you, you still care for profession of somebody else and invite people to respect it...You are a good people, I think...

People will think of farmers only when they see the price of food going up, and then they will complain.
I think that is not a good behavior.
When i travel to other countries, I like to see the countryside, and see the farmers at work.
I always will remember how hardworking they are.

Yes, I totally agree with you. Moreover their work really depends on the weather, so sometimes no matter how hard they work, they might not get any results if the weather is not good for the crops.
I always told my children this. Besides respecting the farmers, I always told them to love the earth, as not to waste any resources as much as we can.

@scheng1 I totally agree with you! It is very sad... Plus in the economic situation today... We are in a drought in most parts of the world, I really do feel sorry for them...

@Prakshi_22 Natural disasters always affect farmers.
Either we are in drought or flood.
It is hard to find a country with 10 years of good weather for the farmers.

It is a famous poem in China about not to waste the food. I also don't like wasting the food and this is how I tell my son all the time. You know there are still many people who are starving in the world. It is a shame to waste the food.

agreed!!
it's what I am doing now. my grannies told me the same things since they were farmers. they said if I didn't finish my food cleanly, the farmers would cry and the rice would cry either. it's how they brought me up. and to this day, I go by those golden rule.

They must really be crying in their hearts when they see people wasting food.
They really spent so many hours under the hot sun, and they value every single leaves, grains and fruits that the ground produced.
Sometimes I think the schools in the city should send children to the farms and work for a month.
They will appreciate food after a month of hard work.

Food is so expensive around here. I was sad to learn that in the province we live in, here in Canada, that in the past there was 500 dairy farm, and now they are down to about 300. So there is a lot of pressure from the government on the farmers, yes lets be nice with the farmers.

I grew up very poor so seeing wasted food is always a heart break for me especially that my parents are farmers.

I cannot imagine the pain of your parents when they see others wasting food.
It is a pity that farmers grow food for so many people and yet they have to go hungry when the harvest is poor.
I think governments have to take better care of farmers.
