Hi Everyone, I have read some books talking about the difference in THINKING between rich and poor people, and i think generally i got the idea. Rich peole are less likely to be afraid of taking risks while the poor will tend to avoid them without calculation. There is a fundemental difference in the way rich people talk about money than poor, for instance if a poor person can't afford something he will try to not spend money while the rich will actually think about how to get more money. Of course i am sure you will have different opinions regarding the above. But i didn't find an answer to myself to that little question - How to start? I would appreciate any idea you might have of starting a small business with minimum risks involved. Thanks Gil

I think most businesses have to start naturally, for example I used to make Jewellery for fun then I started selling them, before I knew it I had an online business, I was making £6,000 a year on average for 4 years. Not enough to give up work but a nice amount. I gave up when my little boy was born because it was too much work but I am thinking of starting something else at the moment. It has to be something you enjoy x

@aboveus Yes that is a niche market. Do you enjoy design in general ? graphic design or art if you are good at those you can find a niche within that that is more marketable x

Well, when it comes to work the only thing i have ever enjoyed with mechanical design, i am also a mechanical engineer.. But the thing is .. it is VERY hard to actually succeed in this area if your product is mechanical design. There are few companies here which rules the country and i haven't seen lots of small business of mechanical design.

Knowing nothing about what you have in mind it's difficult to suggest something. First of all, where do you want to start your business?

Well, i had few ideas in mind. 1. Mechanical design (see my previous comment). 2. Designing and selling a product which invloves in agriculture - for the past 4 years i have been working for 2 companies in this area so i have a good idea. 3. (Off of my profession): Sell products on the internet - i was thinking about baby products or cosmetics. So fat these are the main things i have in mind, but everything is still blur to me.

@aboveus If you are already working in the mechanical design area, I think you should stick on this project. Selling products on the Internet seems easy, but in our days it's hard to make money.

I think the only way to start a business with minimum risks is to only look at ones with little or no overhead. Any investment will bring up that risk factor and when you get into loans even more so. However like the comparison you made between rich and poor lets discuss that a little. Usually you need money to make money but money can be earned with hard work or so they say?

Well, i have no doubt that earning money involves hard work, but the question is how much money you make in the time you're investing. I believe that the ambition should be to make the more money with less time.
