Hello everyone!
After my last post, my child's sleep became even worse. A chat with his pediatrician at the 12 month well check meant that we had some clear guidance. She is a lovely doc who has three of her own kids so knew what we were going through.
Yes, dear reader, we let our baby boy cry it out. Three nights of bumpy bed time, two of those nights were a bit grizzly overnight, by the third night he was sleeping through. All night. And by the fifth bedtime he simply rolled over in bed and put himself to sleep without crying.
Can you feel my energy and happiness within my sentences?
I hope all is well in everyone elses' worlds. I see that Platespinner is now on here - this makes me happy.
Bye for now.

That's great news that he is sleeping. That method seems to really work.

@BellaDoc Sure are, but it isn't true that you only remember the good parts. My partner has nothing but lovely memories of our eldest daughter's first couple of years; my memories are totally different! I'm amazed that I didn't either die of exhaustion or some tiredness-related accident, or kill someone!

I never had any issues putting my son to bed...he'd be asleep before his head hit the pillow! But my daughter, she was a real handful getting her to sleep at night. Our doctor recommended the same thing...that we let her cry it out. It worked, but it sure was painful those first couple of nights or so! But it sure paid off in the long run!

I can remember those first few times I had to let my baby cry it out. It was hard at first, but it was the right thing ... once I knew for sure that she had been nursed and her diaper had been changed. After that, she started sleeping through the night quickly.

What a milestone this is, both for the baby and for you.

You deserve it. It's been a long slog.
