I Miss Playing Board Games

It has been quite a while since I have played a board game with a bunch of people I care about. I miss it because it is so simple but fun and a great way to spend time together. Whenever we have our own house I intend to have a game night full of board games and all kinds of games not just board games. I love playing Trouble, Monopoly, Candy Land, and more! What is your favorite board game/card game/video game?

I love board games. I do not necessarily have a favorite. There are some that I do enjoy playing more than others, but there is a wide range of games that I enjoy playing. I think that playing board games is a very important part of family activities, and I have tried to instill that in my children as well.

@IvySaysHi That is cute! I am sure that he will like playing them, too, when he is old enough to understand.

@taramarie39 Last time I was at my mom's house, we played Yahtzee and I got my butt kicked. :( Still fun and nostalgic though.

At holidays we get together and play. The newest one for our family is called Deer in the Headlights . We play a card game called "Hand and Foot" also known as canasta. It is a fun family situation. Oh, we also like dominos.

We have had at least one game under the Christmas tree every year. We spend the holidays playing the games together - everything from Apples to Apples, Dominoes, Mad Gab to Kerplunk and Candy Land. I was thinking about getting a game again this year but realize with our kids being older now, we just don't have the time together to play like we used to. I really miss it too. Apples to Apples is a great game for a big group of people. We have other games some people have probably never even heard of like Anomia and Yikerz. I think I should try and sell some but can't bear to part with them.

I miss playing board games also! My all time favorite is Monopoly, followed by Scrabble. There are all sorts of new board games I have yet to try.

I used to love to scrabble and Monopoly, but with the advent of tablet and computers, you can't even feel the old school emotions of playing the game! But there is now a cafe that offers the games and the likes here in the Philippines.

Board games are becoming obsolete. Sadly tablets and computers are taking their place. I believe that board games are great ways for family interaction. This weekend we are having a family gathering for Christmas. My SIL is bringing various board games for everyone to play. Hoping it will be a good turnout and that everyone participates in the games.

I like board games also. My all time favorite one is Monopoly. Hands down the best board game ever made. But I like other games also. And some card games. No, not poker. There is a card game I like a lot called Canasta. Awesome. I call that one the monopoly of card games. Then there is chess and backgammon. Great games.

Playing board games with the kids is great. I like the shorter ones though. Monopoly if we okay will have to a times game. I can't sit down for hours in end playing that games. I love sorry. I can play that everyday.

Why not do what my daughter and her family does. Organize a game night and invite your friends over. You can have snacks or even make a pot luck dinner. Everyone can bring a dish to share. Each person can bring a favorite came and you can all vote on which one to play first. It would be a lot of fun. You can even do this as a family night event.

I will add cards to this. I miss playing a game a cards, my favorite is crazy 8s. There was another good game a friend showed me but, I can't remember the name of it. Nothing better than playing cards, with a few cold drinks to help relax the night away.
