Our Christmas Plans

Woke up this morning to drizzling rain. The temp is 52 F which is a lot warmer than yesterday mornings 39 degrees. I'm trying to work on catching up here this morning but for some reason I am so sleepy, even after drinking a cup of coffee. Hopefully the second cup will wake me up.
My brother and I are going to visit my kids/grandkids this weekend. We are leaving Saturday morning and will be back Sunday. They only live an hour away so that's not bad at all. This will be our Christmas get together and we are bringing all the food. My brother doesn't get paid until Friday so that means we will be shopping and cooking all day Friday. Of course, some things we can't cook in advance and will have to be cooked Saturday when we get there.
We both know that we will be so exhausted but it will all be worth it. I'm excited and can't wait to see my kids and grandkids. A friend of mine calls her grandchildren 'grandloves' and that says it so perfectly.
What do you have planned for Christmas? Are you visiting family or are they visiting you? Are you spending the day with friends and/or loved ones? Or are you spending a quiet and relaxing Christmas at home?

Our children, their partners and dogs will be here for Christmas. My son the landscaper who is building my porch will be here later this week to work on it and get it done by Christmas. Thank goodness the weather is warm. My daughter will be here for a few days before and after Christmas and my youngest and his partner is coming on Christmas Day and spending at least one night here. it will be crazy fun...

That sounds like fun i hope you enjoy your time this weekend. Christmas Eve I always go to my mom's as we celebrate with her and my step dad then. Then On Christmas day we celebrate with my dad at my sisters place, lots of traveling but I don't mind. I can't wait until next week lots of family time and that's what i love.

On the day you celebrate this day I will probably cleaning my house. After 18 months of three guys supposedly cleaning the house, it needs a deep thorough cleaning. I found at least 3-5 spiders eggs yesterday and that was just in the kitchen.

@simone10 But it will be worth it, once I get my routine back, the spiders will be nonexistent.

The Christmas Eve, my niece come to our home and she stays overnight. The day of Christmas we all move to her apartment in Italy and my Mom and her Mother will join us for the Christmas lunch. It sounds nice, but I have to prepare all the food also for the day of Christmas.

Sounds like you will be really busy but it will be worth it to see the children and grandchildren. I will spend my Christmas here at home with 2 of my sons and one daughter in-law. Two of my grandchildren are in Az with my son and his wife and another one is in Texas so I won't be seeing them and another son is in CA.
The photo is of my oldest Grandson after he came out of the Marines.

I envy you, my friend. Two of our sons and their families live in another province about 600 kilometers away from Calgary. They are not coming to Calgary this year to celebrate Christmas and new year with us . . So, just our eldest son and his family and our daughter, the baby in the family, celebrating Christmas with my wife and me.

Enjoy seeing your kids and grandkids. Even if you get tired, it is well worth it. I will spend part of my holiday with some of my grandkids, too.

We always go over my in-laws for Christmas. Our friends come over during the week as most of them have off at least a couple of days.
Have a wonderful time.
