Hiccups

So I have been sitting here for at least 10 minutes with the hiccups. I haven't tried anything to get rid of them because personally I don't think there is anything out there to get rid of them. But I am curious if there is any other ways that you know of that I haven't heard of to get rid of hiccups. I have tried the most common of holding your breath, drinking water, etc. My friend told me just now to drink pickle juice. Now that is a new one to me. So what do you all do for hiccups?? Or do you just deal with them?

try breathing through a paper bag tightly sealing your nose and mouth. You breathe out then you inhale your own carbon dioxide.

Sometimes I will try to hold my breath or drink water to stop my hiccups. Or I will stretch my hands over my head and then put them down very slowly. This method works better.

I'd have a lot of trouble standing on my head nowadays.

Do you drink the water upside down? That is the only way I can get rid of hiccups.

@T_gray Well it is a little hard, the fuller the glass, the easier it is to do. What I do is place my mouth over the opposite side of the glass and slowly lean over until I can sip the water. It feels strange took, because the water flows into the upper part of my mouth instead of the lower part. However, after only a few sips (2-6, depending on how bad the hiccups are) it gets rid of them.

I've heard of this too. Giving someone a fright is supposed to work too.

Mum used to give me 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar but I don't think that worked either. I liked it though.
