Need An Umbrella Today

It is difficult to believe that on December 16th we need an umbrella to go for a walk today. It is not raining hard just softly but one can still get wet that way. I enjoy walking in that kind of rain though. Easier than walking on a snowy sidewalk. I wonder what's in store for us on Christmas day: snow or rain?

I do like the fact that you suggest that the choice is restricted to either snow or rain for Christmas Day, which is most likely true.

Hi marlina, over here in Ireland it is pretty horrible at the moment. Almost incessant rain for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Some places have experienced really bad flooding, coupled with strong winds. Apparently, we are expecting more over and after the Christmas period. Light rain wouldn't be so bad!! Even though it's still quite mild here for the time of year (about 5 or 6 degrees above normal for now), I prefer the cold, dry weather. Much more pleasurable for walking in if you ask me! Is snow on the horizon I wonder?

@marlina Same here. I have heard that we'll have snow end of January and the month of February. Think I'll just hibernate if that's the case :D

I hope the weather will be nice in Christmas. Otherwise it will really spoil the mood. We plan to go out to see the beautiful Christmas tree in Christmas Eve. My son is eager to it.

I will rather not go out if I need to bring along an umbrella, unless I really need something urgently, and there is no way to live if I do not go out now.

I like to carry an umbrella in the rain if it is just for walking, not for shopping.

We have no snow in our near future. We had very heavy rain and fog yesterday, today should be partyly sunny.

Yes, we need an umbrella today too. It is pouring rain here where I live and has been all day so far.

It is going to rain today (Thursday) pretty much off and on. I have several errands to run and it is going to make things hard. We just got over five days of weather in the 70's but now the temps are dropping and we are seeing the rain and then it is suppose to be cold by the weekend.

We won't have snow here at Christmas. It's just sweater weather now. Sigh...

I would love to see a little rain, even a gentle rain would be better than nothing.

I heard a while back snow for Friday, but I don't recall if that is for tomorrow or next week. I know that our temps for next week will be back into the mid-forties and almost fifty so if we get any precipitation then, it would most surely be rain. And, if it does snow this weekend, but next it should be thawed again.

We have had almost eight inches of rain this month. I try to run between the raindrops with varying success.

We had heavy rain yesterday. Today there is lot more sunshine. I think its a mixed climate.

We have had rain this month too. Very unusual. Unfortunately rain ends up being worse for walking and driving as it does freeze at night.

It drizzled a little bit here this morning but then stopped. It was high 40's today and snow this weekend but not much. Going to be 60 christmas week so no snow for us

We have had what we call perfect tourist weather--highs in the low 80s and lows in the middle 70s but we have a 'cold wave' coming this Friday--don't laugh--Friday a high only in the low 70s and Saturday morning in the low 60s--that is COLD for Fort Lauderdale!!

I've never been keen on umbrellas. I'd rather have a raincoat and hat.

I have heard that here is my town we aren't going to get snow on Christmas. I am OK with that. I don't like snow.
