Can you remember the details of your dreams when you wake up?

This week, I feel strange about having bad dreams. I remembered one discussion here talking about getting killed in your dreams. So, this is what I can remember. One night I dreamed that I was going to enroll in a school with my husband. We had a motorcycle, the weird thing there is that, the registrar's office where inquiries are made is located in a bus so I went there and the staff told me to open my laptop and browse their lists of courses and the corresponding tuition fees.. but why are they going to use my personal computer? They should have their own monitor. Super weird right? then next thing that happened, a bus driver came in and started the bus.. I hurriedly turned off my computer. As I was ready to leave, the bus moved and I said "driver I'm going out of the bus!" I glanced at the window and saw my husband coming after the bus. Seems like the driver never heard when I was repeatedly shouting at him to stop, he continue to drive even more faster and my heart is pounding. Then, he bumped into one of the night market stalls, the sound was really loud that it woke me up. Another dream is very fresh in my memory since it just happened today. So, the story goes like this: It was night time, the place is familiar since it was just our house, weird thing is, it's not on the exact place where it should be my uncle's house on the side, so, instead a park where my relatives are there, sight seeing and there's a stage in front, there's a woman singing. I stayed on one of the benches outside the house since my little boy is sleeping. I got curious of the performer so I went closer and saw that it was my sister-in-law who was singing on stage. Then I find myself standing at her back seeing a commotion just few distance from us. A teenager shouted as he was stabbed in the neck by an unknown suspect. I panicked and ran back to the house to check on my kid. When I got there my aunt angrily shouted at me why I left the child alone in the house. They were just around the house chatting with mom and their sisters. Upset, I went inside and decided to prepare milk. From the window, I saw a man holding a knife stabbing one of my cousins, she shouted for the man repeatedly stabbed her. I was horrified!! Expecting that my mother and her sisters with my kid had already found a hiding place, I went out of the main door and crawled down the bush. Our front area is very dark at night, and I'm thinking of releasing our dog from its cage. The man came out the door and saw me, my eyes grew big as he asked me "where do you think you're going?" then I'm up and haven't slept after that. So, right now my face is so "haggard"... Can you still remember every detail of your dreams?

I am nearing 60, and for most of my life I have dreamed a lot. I have two or three dreams every night. I have noticed that their themes seem to repeat at times. Being on a train is common for me. Flying around the ceiling in a house is another thing I often do in dreams. I think that we are meant to learn something from all of life's experiences in whatever form they come in to us in, and so this might mean that we are meant to learn also something from our dreams. Dreams are not usually literal in the sense of our being able to readily match them to life's outer experiences, either past ones, or ones to come in the future, but normally, our fears, our beliefs, and our emotions, that we need to most work on most, figure in our dreams, giving us an opportunity to see ourselves in different ways than we normally do, and so to grow ourselves more in these areas into a better person, I think. I don’t think that any dream is bad. Whatever it is I think it comes to us for a reason. The hard part is figuring out what they are trying to tell to us.

Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. Sometimes I get serious de ja vu ages after having a dream when something about it that's actually happening in the moment makes me remember it.

what d'ya think could be a reason for this? Is it because I'm thinking too much about my problems these days?

@carexing25 I don't know i'm no expert. I'm a big believer in the subconscious and think things going on in your life can get into your mind and come across in a slightly skewed or weird way in your dreams. sometimes the dreams may not seem directly related to your problems but the link could be in there somewhere. I haven't found much use in dream analysis books but you may do. I've found a bit of quiet contemplation helps me sometimes. I've had a few issues with various things and in the end went for hypnotherapy which was sort of useful for me although it isn't for everyone and you need to find a reputable practitioner if you go that route. with a bit of quiet and some careful thought you can often decipher why you're dreaming what you are and do something about it.

Sometimes I remember, but sometimes I don't. I don't recall if I have those horrible or bad dreams, all I can remember are just "normal daily life" dreams. I always dream of eating, I don't know why. Not that I am hungry or like to eat very much, I just dream about eating something always. I did have some dreams that I screamed or shouted (not because of anger, but because of frustration), usually that's because I was stressful in real life. So, I think sometimes dreams reflect what we are experiencing emotionally in our daily life. I am not expert, and didn't know much about dreams. When I am not stressful, my dreams are always normal, happy and sometimes I'd even want to go back to sleep and continue to dream.

I usually remember my dreams as soon as I open my eyes in the morning, but it fades when I get up and I am ready for breakfast. I remember very well some dreams that I judge important to remember.
