I just quit a 7 digit salary job in a multinational construction company in March to start financial consultancy which is unheard of for a 25 year old guy. Not quitting the job but starting a consulting firm at the age of 25. People don't look up to 25 year olds for advice on how to run their business. None the less I jumped the gun.
It has been 9 months and these nine months were painfully slow. I also took up teaching not to earn (i have enough stashed up to survive the winter) but for the experience and purely to kill the time. I did not give up and kept trying. Finally in the last week I finally got 2 good consulting contracts which things looking up.
Sharing this with all of you. Sharing the happiness. And sharing my moto - Never Give Up!

I think you can use the time to get some professional certifications.
It will enhance your credibility as a consultant.
Since it takes time to build up the reputation, and experience, you have to use paper qualifications to make up for the lack of experience.
