Public Service Group Scams The Poorest

I read this article today and was spitting mad.
The short of it is that a few folks running a tax-exempt purportedly educational organization have been arrested for Medi-Cal claims fraud. I hope that case goes well for the state.
But what really got me is that in 2008 the same folks (under another name, tax exempt et al) sold assisted housing vouchers to the almost homeless for $1500.00! -- in one of LA's poorest neighborhoods. Those vouchers are free, although there was 50,000 person waiting list.
To allow folks to think they can hop to the top of a list, while scraping their families for the money IS criminal and morally depraved. Firstly, they never got on the list.
Secondly, the "church" who licenses these cons their "educational" materials takes a tithe without any regulation on their part. A tithe from $100,000,000.00 most recently.
Meanwhile my homeless 78 year old disabled friend who lives in his camper in the cold right
now, can't even get on such a list, as it is closed. (Yet he does have a happy ending in sight -- a dear mutual friend in the country may have found a place for him.)
We have both been scammed before, this friend and I, many years ago. And yes, it was by a tax exempt "religious" organization.

That is awful, I can't believe the things people do just to make a dollar. I hope they pay big for what they did.
