Parking fine

United Kingdom

We received one of those automated parking fines today, They want £100!! It was one of those cases where a picture of your car is taken and you haven't bought a ticket and input your registration number. Well in this instance I had bought a ticket. The trouble being I had input the registration from the car I normally drive, but I was in my wifes car at the time so had put in the wrong registration when buying the ticket!!! I will of course appeal the fine, will let you know how I get on! Has anyone else done anything as foolish as this??

Thankfully we only have the one car now but I must admit I did that too but did not get the fine thankfully! Good luck.

Hoping they'll waive the fee as you did buy the ticket, just mistakenly inputted the wrong registration details. Can not say I have done anything this foolish.

I do not drive, so we only use one car and I cannot enter the wrong registration.

No not exactly. But my other half fell foul of the new car licencing and didn't get a reminder as he has always had in the past. The car was clamped and we had to pay the pound and the missing tax. And then they decided to prosecute him as well.Luckily the magistrate was sympathetic and the case was dropped
