"Vitruvian Man" refers to an image made by Leonardo da Vinci to illustrate the geometrical relationships of the 'ideal' human body proposed by the Roman architect Vitruvius. It is mainly of interest to art students in their study of the history of art and of the proportions of the human body

@pgntwo Leonardo was fascinated by the application of science and mathematics to Art. Vitruvius was an architect and therefore concerned with geometry. I think that his interest was in designing buildings which were possibly, in some way 'friendly' or 'felt right' by using the proportions of the human body in his designs.
