There was this sunflower oil that was considered to be best for keeping cholesterol in check and now they have come out with rice bran oil which is considered even better. It is the same company that is promoting this product. I am happy with sunflower oil, although a lot is being talked about olive oil too. Looking around for upgrades when what one consumes creates no problem, I feel it is not required. Do you upgrade just because?.

I do not think extra virgin olive oil can be replaced by anything else

Well, it all depends on the requirements of the industry. A better product replaces the old one. Marketing speaks of 3 concepts: USP = Unique Selling Propositions MSP = Moral Selling Propositions ESP = Emotional Selling Propositions Hence, different industry keeps on finding the different product suiting the market need. It isn't gradation but finding that formulation which will sell better.

Marketing does speak provided there are those who go for the 'improved' product just because it is there and not because the older one has had any bad effects on them.
