Do you ever drink coffee at night?

I actually do sometimes drink coffee at night, and it doesn't seem to keep me from sleeping. But tonight, I knew it was a necessity, as I'm battling a sinus headache. I don't know if it's the mild addiction factor, or something else, but they say a cup of coffee can help make a headache go away. Have you experienced this? It sometimes works for me. I'm sipping way as I type.

I have also heard that about coffee. I did some research about coffee some time ago. Nothing extensive but it's said that if the caffeine doesn't bother you drink at least 6 cups of day it's good for a number of diseases. I drink a lot of coffee, but lately I have had to cut down to be able to sleep. In my younger days it never bothered me.

@TheHorse The only one I can remember for sure was Parkinson"s. Apparently it reduces your risk greatly.

I can't do that, I'd be awake for hours. Learned my lessons years ago. I drink coffee in the morning and only in the morning

I rather take a pill to stop the running nose.
It will make me sleep more soundly.
I think an antihistamine pill will work much better than a cup of coffee.
I find that when I drink coffee right before bedtime, it does not keep me awake.
The caffeine probably has not gone into the blood by the time I fall asleep.

I drink coffee from dawn til bedtime @TheHorse . Outside of hitting the bathroom 50,000 times per day, it doesn't affect me either. It sounds like it's time to get out the Nettie Pot and clear those sinus'.

@nanette64 I have some saline here. I'll give it a try. I have a Dr. appointment Tuesday.

@TheHorse The temp is definitely a sign of an infection. If you don't have a Nettie Pot, the OTC med that is a nasal spray that is called Simply Saline should help. Or you could do a salt solution at home but would need a syringe to shoot the solution up the nose.

I don't drink coffee, but I have read about caffeine and headaches. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of pain relieving medications. It does not itself make the headache go away. But any caffeine works, coffee, Coke, chocolate.

@ElizabethWallace I seem to get them wherever I am. Had 'em in California and Illinois as a kid. Still get them now.

@TheHorse I used to have terrible sinus headaches. Took headache medicine, followed by a Coke. Seemed to help. But I no longer have the headaches. Moving near the coast was the answer for me.

When I was still drinking coffee, I could still drink coffee at night, and I could still fall asleep. I have heard coffee can get rid of the headache sometimes, perhaps it's because of coffee addiction, but I have not experience that before.
Hope your headache will be gone soon.

I barely have coffee any more, yet it does help me get rid of certain headaches, but not the type he's having. I'm sure it works different for different people.
And to answer your question, @TheHorse, it didn't used to keep me up at night, but now it does somewhat, so I usually refrain just to be sure as I don't sleep well right not anyway.

Caffeine is a vaso-dilator, so if your headache is caused by a restricted blood flow, it might help, I suppose. I get coffee headaches if I sleep too late and my coffee fix is late. It doesn't always keep me up at night unless I drink far too much, I usually have an evening cup of coffee.

My headache is bit better this morning, but I can still feel it playing in the background. I've read on some websites that caffeine is a vaso-constrictor, like other stimulants. It sounds like the effects of coffee are actually quite complex!

I'll usually drink coffee in the morning and sometimes afternoon. I don't usually drink any in the evening, as I don't want it to keep me up too late. With three young kids, I'm usually up early, and the last thing I need is to get a bad night of sleep.

What keeps me awake is my mind... not coffeee.
I always think of 1001 things I need to be doing so never get drowsy lol

I can not go to sleep unless I have a cup of coffee last thing at night. If I don't then I will lie in bed tossing and turning until I get up and make myself one then funnily enough I go straight back to sleep!

I don't consume coffee too much, I prefer tea rather. And I can have tea at any time, time does not matter. I am also suffering from migraine, have frequent headaches, never knew this fact a cup of coffee can relieve you from a mild headache. I will try it next time when I'll headache.

I love coffee. I can drink it hot or over ice. I prefer freshly brewed one with french vanilla creamer. No sugar. And I do not have an exact time when I want. But I try to limit my coffee intake to two cups (big cups, I must say) a day. Any more than that, I begin to feel a little dizzy or hyper, and then I crash.
Usually, I have a cup in the morning. It can be hot or iced, depends on what my mood is. Then another one usually at night. I do not have any problems sleeping - I am usually ready for bed around 10 to 11 pm whether I had coffee or not. The boyfriend, however, thinks I become hyper after and begs for me to ditch it before bedtime.

Yes, I do drink it sometimes at night. It doesn't keep me up at night. It is odd. It is kind of like the caffeine has a reverse affect on me where it calms me at night and doesn't make me all giddy like it does in the morning (if that makes sense).

If the headache is due to lack of caffeine then it helps. Some headache medications contain caffeine, so there must be something to it.
