Worst Job Possibility

You get up early to shower, have breakfast and prepare for your interview. You think to yourself you are going to ace it and think positive the whole time. You even think of your happy place until you get to your appointment interview. You greet your interviewer. You are pleasant, relaxed and dominate the conversation where necessary to accentuate why you are the candidate for the job. You never lose eye contact with the person and lean forward towards them in interest. You come out of there thinking you have aced the interview and feel great. Two hours later, you receive a phone call from the recruiter. The interviewer has apparently chosen the four candidates for the position to be filled and you are not one of them. What a way to bomb out. I was told that I did great in the interview. I even declared myself to the recruiter that, yes, I was willing to fill the alternate schedule if the first one got filled. Out of four slots available and who knows how many possible people applying, I simply bombed out. I went in there feeling one way and came out feeling another. Not the best feeling in the world. However, a few hours later, I felt different and somehow that decline gave me new perspective and I don't negatively the denial. It was a great opportunity that I really wanted but, at least, I know that I did well in that interview and I can do it again to another perspective company that will say yes. To those of you out there who think the worst possibility will depress you and not try again, STOP. Don't think that way. Use it as a learning curve and to your advantage on how to improve the next one. The right company will say yes.

Exactly - im glad you are seeing the experience from a positive point of view. I just had a rather sad experience with applying for a job- I made it down to the top 4 candidates and felt really positive....Then ai found out a co worker got it instead, and the department never ever sent me a rejection email or phone call! But in the end, its also good to stay fresh on those interview skills.

You can call the company and talk to the interviewer. Tell him or her that you are grateful and thankful for the interview regardless of the outcome of the interview. At the end of it, tell the interviewer that should any vacancy arises, please let you have the opportunity to attend the interview. This will make you standout.

Hello there, I use to feel that way when ever I got out of the interview room or the cubicle. there was even one time, that I was insulted and criticized for having an elementary grammar for haivng a small test. It took a while but I didn't gave up.

The key is to not give up and keep moving forward.
