I just read a post on the no response section titled something about our attitude is showing and I was going to comment on it but ...... Holy Cow! I couldn't find a place to put a comment in. I'm blocked from that person. I have no idea why I'm blocked and I really don't care, I don't believe I've run into this person before...their loss not mine. But it does make me wonder how many have blocked me for whatever reason...sigh...
This article was saying that most myLot articles with lots of comments are about nothing and no one comments on the serious posts and that is what is wrong with the world today.
I was going to say I will not comment about religion or politics unless I know the writer of the post. Some that I have responded to opened a big can of worms. Why would I open that can of worms on purpose?
I don't need or want to be lectured about my religious beliefs just because someone has an idea I'm going to hell for believing something they don't happen to believe in. If you ask a question i will answer it my way so maybe you could consider what I say as another opinion and not a death threat.
I love talking politics to people with an open mind and a sense of humor. I voted for Obama twice and I'm proud of it. I am not proud of the way the Republicans made his life miserable but I'm proud of the man and how he reacts to things going on in the world. (with class and knowledge).
You can't do anything but laugh at what is going on in the states right now. I may live in Canada but I am still an American Citizen and I vote in both countries. I also know by some point in the future the real runners will jump ahead and the losers will fade into the sun set. Who will that be. Just like all of you we will have to wait and see what happens.
Patience is a virtue and writing posts just so you can jump on those who comment is not the way to make friend and support good feelings.
My sort-of Rant is over...

I don't want any drama in my life. My political views and religious views are my own. So avoiding them at all costs is what I do. I am entitled to my opinions as is everyone.

Oh yes, I've been blocked by the same person. I am active in my chosen political party; but I don't choose to discuss it on myLot. How many people on myLot care about Bill 6 which is very controversial in Alberta right now?
Not discussing important issues on myLot doesn't mean I am not facing them in my life.
On his profile he says he enjoys writing about things like camping. He should have everything in common with you.

I noticed that too and wondered if he has a problem with women who camp without their husbands. My husband hates camping so I go with my sister while he's working the summer away.

I have been blocked by one who has done that to many - kind of 'block happy' We were quite friendly and used to interact well!

@PainsOnSlate I have an interesting story to tell. This user and self kind of had a difference of opinion with a few to and fro interactions and before I knew it I was blocked but each time this user wanted to respond to my posts the block would be removed and back again it would be placed giving me no opportunity to comment. I reported this but there was doubt in the mind of Admin if anyone could block and unblock repeatedly. Once again I saw a response and immediately I checked the user's profile and saw that I was unblocked and that was the time I quickly blocked the user. I now have peace

It makes no sense to block anyone unless they are being a pest. A chronic complainer, a chronic commenters who has to post 100 comments on each post....they do exist, or someone who argues all the time... I don't intend to block anyone but you never know...

@allknowing I love it, you got to block him. I know we can remove any comment s we don't like or report them to Admin. I think that is the way I will go instead of blocking but you never know.,...

@PainsOnSlate I have to take it back I have been blocked by the same small minded person. I went looking and found I could not respond. lol I feel quite privileged to be among the elite group blocked , I must have disagreed at some point!!

We may not agree politically(I'm one of those dreaded 'conservatives'), but that's no reason why we can't have a civil disagreement on issues, political or otherwise. I would not block anyone for not sharing my opinion. The problem with the world today: Too much 'kneejerk' and not enough civility.

Oh I was blocked by someone that I thought was an online friend for years. We first chatted here at myLot when I joined and then of course we followed each other on Gather and Bubblews. I was surprised to come back here and comment on one post and find myself blocked. The comment I made was in no way bad so I have no idea why I was blocked.

@Shellyann36 The guy who blocked me said in a post he has blocked a lot of people just because he has nothing in common with them which makes him brainless because those nothing in common with people would have given him money by commenting and liking. He's gone by the way, disappeared lock stock and barrel a couple of days ago.

There is no way of knowing except no comment place when you go to comment - its like a slap in the face..for a few seconds then the laughter comes when you realize he's losing money and I'm not.

Have I ever found myself blocked? No.
Have I been blocked? How would I know - is there a notification or similar when someone blocks you?
I have similar questions about being reported - would I know if I had been reported by someone?

@pgntwo just like @paigea I never knew until I tried to comment on his discussion and there was no comment space. Its a personal thing I think, he's decided he doesn't want my comments so he blocked me. I honestly don't believe I've ever graced one of his articles before today and you can bet I won't be commenting on him in the future.

I'm not offended, I was just taken by surprise because as far as I know he is a stranger to me, maybe he doesn't like my name . I was born in the US and moved to Canada. I carried a US passport and became a legal immigrant in Canada. When we first moved here the law said if we wanted to become citizens we had to give up our American Citizen status. That was not going to happen so we stayed as landed immigrants (my husband was recruited here for a job) When our children were older and were thinking about becoming citizens to get into politics and the military we looked into it too. The law had changed so we now have duel citizenship, and carry two passports. We vote with absentee ballots in the US.

To be frank,I think we should ignore someone who block us. What's the matter with us ? Just kick off the person who don't like you. We should't let some dirties pollute our beautiful life.
Suddendly, a thought cross my mind that we should ignore these rubbish men everyday. Everyday! Life is short. We don't need them to come into our life.

To my knowledge I am not blocked and if someone wants to block me it is their loss not mine. I fully agree there are some on here who seem to want to jump on anything that is said. I have learned to stay away from religion and politics pretty much on this site as some people have their own views and if you don't oh boy here we go. Our Attitude is showing how about theirs.

@PainsOnSlate It is already costing them as people cannot leave good quality comments on their discussions... that is a lack of interaction which they'd normally earn from.
