Coming home

Is there anything more exciting than coming home, or going home. My son came home last night and it was the most wonderful feeling. He had been away studying at University and it was his first time away from home. He had been gone for one term yet seemed like he was away for an eternity. I can only imagine the joy felt by the families of service men and women when they return home. Do you have relatives coming home for Christmas and the holidays? Image is mine

We've just got both of our kids back from university on Saturday. We've gone from empty house to full house. Not sure how much of a good thing that is yet though

No, we are alone. It is just my daughter, my self and my grandson. WHen I was young we always looked forward to my uncle coming home. He worked out of town alot and we enjoyed it when he came home. He was the life of the family.Kept things moving forward. Always had something fun for us kids to do.

Sorry to hear that but it can happen to all of us at some time. Our children grow up and have their own lives . Are you able to visit her?

What a wonderful feeling! Most of my family as well as my husbands lives in the same town. There are only a few that live away from us and we always try making it a point to visit. I hope you enjoy your time with your son while he is home for the holidays.

I had hoped that all of my children would be home for Christmas. Unfortunately one will be missing. He will be calling us on Christmas day to talk with all of us.

While you prefer to see your children in person, talking or video chatting is the next best thing so enjoy and hopefully you see each other soon.

I wish I can visit my folks for Christmas, but it is not possible this year. There is no greater feeling than to see your loved ones after years of being away from them. Thank goodness of technology, I can still celebrate Christmas with them through video chats. It may not be as exciting and as fun as being physically there with them but for now, we just have to be thankful.

I wonder how we managed without video chat in the past. It is really a wonderful invention and the net best thing to meeting your loved one in person

I remember the feeling well when my children started spreading their wings. Anytime they came home was a red-letter day, not just Christmas.

Luckily I have my family by me, though my Mom visited her brother in another Province today, and they enjoyed catching up. Enjoy having your son home for the holidays, and catching up on everything. :-)

I am going to my great nephew and his dad for Christmas. I can't wait and it is sort of like going home for me as I spent so much time there when my late niece was ill. Enjoy the time with your son. My late niece rarely came home once she went to university. I went to see her.
