What is the most amount of money you have found on the ground?

i have found a few hundred dollars someone one dropped a huge wad of money in a store i was in buying something.

I have found only coins, like pennies, nickles and dime.

The most I have found is $20, and I was not alone then, my friend and classmate was with me. I think we were in second year of college then, and as we all know, a college student is always broke. We found it at the mall and even debated on turning it in to the mall guard. Then when we went to the mall's security office, we have to wait for about 40 minutes before somebody even bothered asking us what we need. When asked rather grudgingly what we wanted, we said we want to turn in a lost possession. We did not say we found money. And then the tired and grumpy looking guard turned away and yelled to his co-worker that "these gals need to turn in a lost item" and to "get us the paperwork". And then we were told to wait. My friend and I were upset and we decided to just get out of there. It didn't feel right, but we both agree that we are also not comfortable turning in the money to them. Suffice to say my friend and I stayed clear of the mall for months.

@SilverKing,Yeah....I did find a purse lying on the road a few years back.It consisted INR 5000 in it.Fortunately soon after I found the purse I noticed a man coming searching something on the road.On inquiry I came to know it was he who had dropped the purse.He was the owner of the purse.I handed over the purse to him.

When I was a little kid I found a $5.00 bill and opened a bank account with it. I was so proud of myself.

When my husband was cleaning near my store we found a filthy $20 bill. I washed it.??

I found a £50 note when I was a kid.
