Though I am old, I'm no prude, And if a handsome hunky young dude Were to offer the bliss Of a smile and a kiss, To refuse him would simply be rude. There was an old Santa called Otto, Fell asleep one day in his grotto, The children they cried They thought he had died, But Santa was just simply blotto. There once was a sock that was lonesome, It's sad that he's all on his ownsome He'd been one of a pair It just wasn't fair, Do you think the washer just drowns some? Original limericks by Jabo

Oh no, not limericks again They are starting to drive me insane But what do you expect? When you know they affect What is left of what once was my brain

@Asylum Now Barry, you know there's no law, That says that we should go to war With our silly lines To see who out-shines, We'll make our heads ache, I'm sure.

@rebelann i have a friend from Bubbs (WAZZUP) who took some of my garden pictures and played around with them, and sent me back the results. I've no idea how he did it, but this one is great isn't it?

@rebelann He was (as Ceerios) but he left in disgust when one of his posts was deleted. I have his email address so I could ask him if it's ok to give it to you if you like. Then you could ask him about it.

With three boys socks always get lost. Lil Keith is not as bad these days but the twins hate wearing socks. They take them off and toss them just anywhere.

Nice.I always said when I lose a sock in the washing machine. That this was eaten up by them. The washing machine sucks up the socks/

@marlina Lol - you must be unique! Of course sometimes the sock is found still in the laundry basket, or dropped on the stairs

So many great limericks! One of these days I'm going to settle down and write one myself - just one would do. I don't need to go on and on with them, showing off ... Oh, did I just say that? Thanks for the smiles.

I am so big on the teeth yikes, I don't know how some can just forget to brush for days on end. I also think my socks dissolve in the dryer, there is just absolutely no other explanation.

@jaboUK I use to make dog toys and little holiday decorations out of them but how many dog toys and decorations could one person possible need. So now I just toss them.

@jaboUK I mean it, somehow you always seem to post these cute little limericks on days when I come home and am so tired and feeling so low and overwhelmed. Yesterday was all of that, and I feel connected to you as a friend as a result. Your words were good!

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - I guess that I was either gone from the MyLot or asleep when this post hit the newstand. Good rhyme and some fun sentiments. My bride said that she relates to the missing sock deal, and maybe that will cause her to quit hollering at me when one of my socks comes up missing in action. ( )

@jaboUK Or Prussian, just like Otto von Bismarck. His name came to my mind because I am feeling a bit hungry and I recalled the Beefsteak Bismark. It's a simple grilled steak with a fried egg on top.

I've not a clue what you might mean by 'blotto' in the one about Santa. Cute limericks, these. It looks like I missed it the first go-round. I'm curious about your image, it looks somewhat like what Gus might do. Is this something you learned from him? I've not seen him about for quite a few months.

@MarshaMusselman Blotto means passed out through being drunk. Gus made the image for me from one of my garden pictures. Sadly he left in disgust after one of his posts was considered to be a poll, and was deleted.
