Would You Be Insulted ?

During our Christmas party , there were awards like Ms. & Mr . the name of our company amongst some more .
One of those awards was given to me . Stress Drilon award , much to my surprise .
So I asked what was that all about when I was already receiving it laughingly . And they said that I was the one voted to be the most stressed at the office , yet still looks pretty .
Ha ? Are you insulting me ? That’s what I told them laughingly .
Actually , I feel insulted , because i take it as the one who is always angry because of stress in work , yet I am seldom that . Others are much more always like that .
But anyway , I am so happy to receive a gift for that - a cute and colorful journal and ballpen as you can see in the picture .
As to the certificate , I tore them to pieces .

lol I think you need to just accept the gifts and forget why you got them. Merry Christmas.

lol! I could picture the fun in your party. But being selected the most stressed person in the company means you are working really hard but on the other hand they are putting so much responsibilities on your shoulder but your hard work made you carry through.

maybe you were just being serious and tend to be strict, but they misinterpret it as stressed?

@SIMPLYD That was nice of them to give you a gift but not so nice of them to give you a stress certificate. I might of even gone home and framed this and then taken it back to work and posted it in the coffee or break room for everyone to see.

Well, you look cheerful to me, all the time. I agree with others, perhaps that indicates you are seriously working employee and yet still looking very pretty.
Yes, just enjoy the gifts which I think are good for your new year, and I guess the torn pieces were already sent to the garbage collector, right?

That is true . I just enjoyed the gift that went with it . Anyway , when i tore down the certificate , i have thrown away the insult i felt .
I could have asked them once and for all , why did they give me that really , but then i just chose to keep my mouth shut or else they will be hurt by what i have to say .

it's really a funny award and yet I see it as a very creative way to tell someone in the office how do you look when you are under work pressure and feel stressed. and the good part is you still look pretty when you are stressed. That's justified. Don't think it's insult.

@SIMPLYD No, I was not trying to say to console you, All I was saying it's creative way to criticize some for something. We all have something we think that that's ok but other's don't feel ok with that, some people criticize us bluntly, which looks far greater a insult then you tell them nicely and with sweet gestures.

Is this award named after the News Anchor Ces Drillon. The award seemed to be a pub on her name. She doesn't look like a stressed person though.

@SIMPLYD You seemed to look sassy but happy but not stressed. Maybe they mistaken spicyness from being stressed.

I think letting it go was a good choice on your part. Some people think something is funny when others do not.

it's a rather rude cynical back-handed compliment by the bosses - as long as others faced similar insulting awards don't take it too seriously
