Sharing my freezer

I know some people would never. Truth is I don't mind if my freezer has the room. So the neighbor is going away for Christmas and wanted to deep freeze her cooked meal she is taking on quite a long trip. I told her I didn't mind she just had to find the room. She found a spot and thanked me. We talked like we always do and she left. Do you help your neighbors?

Yeah I didn't think it was a big deal. She feeds my animals when I am out of town. We are just friendly neighbors.

I love my neighbors. They are great! I am glad to have such good neighbors. I feel safe in this area.

I am glad you would help your neighbor like that. I don't mean as an emergency. I mean they just needed a little room because of cooking for Christmas.

I have one neighbor who doesn't really talk to anyone. that is it for neighbors everything is vacant

Well, that is too bad. I have a couple of neighbors that aren't sociable. For the most part, the others are. I am glad I live where I do.

@lokisdad I hate having renters around me that don't care about anything and are less than desirable neighbors. I guess it is good that they left. Sometimes an empty neighborhood has problems on its own though. Neighborhoods where I used to live would be destroyed when people moved out. Other people would break windows and graffiti houses. I never understood the purpose to that. It certainly wasn't artistic.

@mommaj This place was full of undesirable tenants and although it is a ghost town now in comparison I am happy that the majority of the people are gone they were nothing but trouble.

I can't imagine having everyone's food in my freezer. Just a little for a short period of time is no big deal.

@mommaj We had food over Christmas, whenever they had a party, and when they moved home. I was always told a full freezer is more energy efficient so I don't mind. And luckily they didn't mind when I ate their cheese by accident.

@boiboing That was nice of them to share with you. It was even nicer for you to let them use the freezer. I heard that too about the full freezer and mine usually is.

I would help with something if they asked me to, but I rarely see them. I actually like doing favors, but seldom does anyone ask me.

I don't mind doing favors either. Don't they say that is what friendship is based on? I don't know if it is because I don't get asked to do that many favors for my friends.

I like the fact that there are so many people from so many different parts of the world that still help their neighbors. Makes me believe in the world a little more.

This is only the second person that has ever asked. Both of them are good friends. They feed my animals while I am away, so I don't mind helping them.

That's too bad. I am just blessed with good neighbors. I don't think I will ever move.They help me and I try to return the favor. I don't think freezing her food for a couple days was that big of deal though.

My neighbors don't speak English, we say hi when we see them but that's about it.

That's too bad. Their really shouldn't be a language barrier in America especially between residents. I could understand if they were just on vacation. Maybe they just don't want to talk. LOL
