Our oldest son suggested that he could cook dinner for us tonight. We said yes of course. He made a great stir fry consisting of chicken, all kinds of veggies and some rice to round it up. The whole supper was very pleasant, good food, good wine and most of all excellent conversation. We told him he can repeat the formula any time. Next visit will be on boxing day where we will all be together for Christmas celebration.

It sounds to me as though he is taking a serious risk here. He may end up locked in the kitchen whenever he visits in future.

@marlina Does this mean that you would let him out for a break once in a while?

I love to make chicken stir fry, and actually our son does too, and from what I've had of his, he does a pretty good one also. Its nice when they come by and do up a meal for us isn't it? And 2 visits in just 1 week will be nice for you.

@Juliaacv I do agree with this statement. We both raised outstanding citizens. If everyone would do their part in this field, there would not be trouble in the world.

Sons can be such a blessing. This time last year I had just had my hip replaced and our son came and cooked the whole Christmas dinner.

Sounds like a great meal to me. My boyfriend can make a really good stir fry also. I didn't eat dinner as we had a work party today so I ate plenty there.

Good of him to cook for all of you. I wonder who is in charge of the washing up. This is the part that I hate very much. If you like Indian curry, next time you can just cook a large pot and eat it with French loaf.

Great I've always said...teach your kids how to cook, you never know when they may need that ability.... and a super bonus when they do it for you, and when your grandaughter becomes a hairdresser.... another bonus too Now what might I need from the other grandkids....hehe
