Open the Door (A Poem)

The bell door rings.
Who could it be?
Open the door
And let's see.
Is it Uncle Ernie?
Is it Aunt May?
Is it Cousin Charlie
Or Doris Day?
Is it Milton Berle?
Is it Lucy or Rick?
Is it the Three Stooges
Or that mouse named Mick?
Is it Fred Flintstone
Or Barney Rubble?
Whoever it is
We don't want any trouble.
Is it Donald Trump?
If it is, you're fired.
Is it Bernie Sanders?
If it is, you're hired.
Honestly, I don't know
Who is ringing my door.
I just hope it isn't Grandma Alice.
She's just such a bore.
