Is it really possible to earn money writing online? Real money?
I know you can earn pennies here and pennies there, but I need more than pennies.
My demotion to a part time position at my job is imminent and the only way for me to make ends meet would be to get a second job. Unless I could somehow stop earning pennies and start earning enough online to cover my missing pay.
I've been looking into textbroker, but not brave enough yet to sign up for it.
All my life I have wanted to be paid, really paid, for my writing, but have no clue how to make this dream come true.

Nothing to be brave about textbroker, just polish up your grammar before you write your sample and that will determine your rate of pay. I did not do that, but I still felt okay with what I earned. I almost never had a piece rejected, like maybe two times. The key to remember is that you choose what you want to write about, so you can do this. I will let you know if I find anything else. I dropped there, but would consider going back.

Have you thought about creating your own blog dedicated to your niche of choice. People make good money with affiliate marketing. Heck you could even write your own ebook and publish on amazon. People have made good money selling a book for like 2.99 on Amazon.

I have a couple of niche blogs (one crafts, one pets and animals) but they have broght in very few affiliate sales. Saturated market and all. I'm lucky if I get $2 a month.

@nonersays You should pick a more profitable niche.. There are tons of sites out there that will show you what are good ones. You can do one about dating that gives tips and I bet people would eat it up.. and it wouldn't be hard to find the tips..

I agree with Fed UP Jane. If you want to make serious money, affiliate marketing is the way to go. However, it needs a little bit of time and money investment. Other than that, Infobarrel is quite a popular website for writers. However, you need to submit a lot of high quality content before you see your first cash out.

I have literally $0 to invest into anything other than groceries and bills. Cash was already tight, and having lost my job I don't have a penny to spare.

Textbroker is a good start.
They do not have very stringent requirement.
You have to start from the bottom anyway.
I wonder if you have thought of upgrading your skills.
Perhaps you can check out the community college for courses that will enhance your skills and allow you to get better jobs in the future.

Classes cost. I have no extra money. Not even a penny to spare at this point, having lost over half of my income.

I agree with what you said. So far it seems to me only a legend. Hear a lot of stories from writers that they are making a lot of money by writing online. I am also looking for opportunities for online writing. I have tried few sites, but nothing really worked so far. I tried on upwork.com and iwriter. But it didn't work out with me as yet. You should try their may it works out in your case. If you find anything I can try on, please let me.

I've heard that it is hard to write for iwriter. I've never head of upwork. I might have to look into that one.
I'm willing to try almost any place if I can actually get paid for it without it taking months and months and months to reach a payable cash out ammount.
