A silly Christmas poem....

Christmas Day will soon be here,
Could that be sleigh bells that I hear?
Santa cannot be very far away,
I think I saw his beautiful sleigh!
Don't light a fire in your chimney tonight,
Or Santa's britches will burn alright.
He needs easy access to deliver the toys,
To all the good girls and boys.
Don't forget to leave snacks for him to eat,
He is tired of cookies, he wants a different kind of treat.
Christmas is for kids is what some people think,
When Santa's finished his job I bet he'll have a drink.
No not hot chocolate for him, it's too boring,
A big glass of Whisky is much more alluring.
Now I'll end this Christmas poem and be on my way,
I wish you all a Merry Christmas Day!

Please be patient this Christmas Eve
Santa is running late, but no need to grieve
He was held up first at Papua New Guinea
Where the Reindeer were checked because they looked skinny
Then part of Australia he had to hitchhike
Air Traffic Control had gone out on strike
By the time he reached Russia he was already late
And someone had locked the Iron Gate
Arriving in Europe the outlook was bleaker
He was mistaken for an Asylum Seeker
Next he will travel across the Atlantic
Where the Bermuda Triangle always makes Rudolph frantic
And Rudolph of course is now getting old
So it does not take long for his nose to grow cold
Before he reaches the shore his nose will start dimming
So he needs to recharge while the others are swimming
So he may arrive late, but have no fears
He should finish his task before daylight appears

@AbbyGreenhill Of course I did, I would never be so foolish as to post anything here that I did not write. I know that the International Dale Line is in the Pacific Ocean, but I still looked online to refresh my memory of which countries were early and late etcetera, then chose a few locations and worked from there.

One more silly poem:
Christmas is all about giving
Those who don't are not living
Making sweets is one more thing
Happiness that carols bring.
Was fun putting up the Xmas tree
With items bought nothing free
Our star is up oh so high
Where only eagles dare to fly
The day I know is here today
A wish for you is on its way

The palm trees sway in the island breeze
There's no cold snow or wind to freeze
The ukuleles play throughout the night
It's such a delightful sight
The children all dressed in red
Refuse to go to bed
They know Santa will be coming
So they keep on drumming
Soon they will see Rudolph's nose
All wrapped in ribbons and bows
The children have prepared a special dance
This year Santa has a big chance
The reindeer's enjoy their moon tan
And this makes Santa a jolly old man
The jolly old man is overcome
As he runs off with his bottle of rum
Merry Christmas from the islands of Tahiti

@AbbyGreenhill My son is home from college and his girlfriend who lives with him is home as well. She is from the same town as us. So they are having dinner with her family later this evening, but want dinner with us as well. So early turkey, I am tired.
