My mother used to sing to me a song to wake me up. She would come into my room, lean over my bed and open the blinds before bursting into song.

I am sure there was a second verse, or an additive in there somewhere, but this was the song I was awoken to every school morning as a child. I love and miss my mother dearly, but she could not sing. Still what I would not give to hear her sing this one more time.

The only song that spring to mind with "Good Morning" is the one in singing in the rain.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Not sure about a commercial, maybe. Not seen the movie in a few years though. I can't dance lol, well I try kind of.

Ah yes I've heard that plenty! Pretty sure it was used in part for a commercial in the 90's, but can't remember the brand. Very catchy but I could not dance like that without twisting an ankle!

I had not heard of this song before your post, so I popped over to good old YouTube and listened to a young woman sing it and then viewed a few others but they all seemed only to have the words you included in your post.
I went and searched under the lyrics and the Steve Miller band had a version that sounds similar to this and the bit your mum sung sounds like it could be the chorus. https://youtu.be/UzvAWKutRwo

It may have been. As for the added lines, mom did like to make up her own lyrics so it could have been just that. Thank you for sharing the song.

Ah, I suppose I wasn't very open with my question. It doesn't necessarily have to be Christmas related, just something you've thought of / remembered recently.
