Should I stop being sarcastic?

I have always used sarcasm as a mechanism to get out of any emotional talk and as a way to tell someone that he/she is my close friend. Sarcasm comes naturally to me and I use it all the time. Its in my nature now.
But, many people around me don't get sarcasm and they think that I am being "rude". Of course, I can't help their thinking or anything, but it makes me think again about whether I should remain sarcastic or should I change. I like when people are sarcastic towards me. Sarcasm is not good when the intentions are to hurt someone, but I think it's okay if the intentions are healthy.
What do you guys have to say about it?

Right, I actually have a lot of friends who are also sarcastic. I think I don't want to be friends with someone who doesn't understand sarcasm.

I think you should stop it whilst you still have some friends.
