My Heart Was Heavy This Christmas

This Christmas was full of emotion, thankfulness and sadness. I was thankful that our daughter and grand-daughter were here with us and healthy as our daughter was in a horrible car accident just before Christmas last year and was nearly killed. I am thankful that she has recovered and is healthy and happy.
Two days before Christmas this year, we had to have one of our dogs laid to rest. Meisha, was our Siberian husky and had aged and become very ill. She was around 12 years old and had canine diabetes and cancer. She is being greatly missed!
I hate it when bad things happen around Christmas time! I just thank God that my human family is all healthy and they were all here to spend Christmas with us.

I'm so sorry about your dog, I know how close to your heart she was. They are a big part of the family and missed when gone. Glad to hear your daughter recovered well.

Thank you so much, @PainsOnSlate She was very close to our hearts and we miss her so much. Sadie, our lab, is missing her too. It's sad to watch as Sadie looks for her. Our daughter has recovered very well, but as with any major injury, she has her moments of pain. We are just so very thankful that she is alive and has no major after affects! You are very kind, Marilyn, thank you!

Thank you so much, @jaboUK Yes, Meisha was a big part of our family and we are missing her greatly, but she is happy and no longer in pain now, so that is making it a bit easier to deal with. It is bad when it happens at Christmas as we will think about it every Christmas now.

Thank you, @simone10 I'm sorry you had to do the same thing, it is a very difficult decision to make. She was a beautiful dog. She was a rescue, our daughter brought her home one evening after talking the owners into giving her up. She had been chained up since she was young and we didn't really know how old she was.

@fishtiger58 Yes, that is the only thing that brings me any peace with losing her.

Thank you, @fishtiger58 We miss her terribly, but at least we know that she is not suffering any longer.

Glad to hear your daughter has recovered and you had great time with her and your grand-daughter.
Sorry to hear about your husky, she is very beautiful.
I told my son our dog has gone back to heaven and became angel again, and she will always be there watching and protecting us. She is now living happily with her other angel friends as well.

That's quite sad, you are left with great memories of him. What a handsome husky, your Meisha.
