Three Flat Tires / myLot

My husband just called me extremely upset. He was sitting on the side of the road with not one, not two, but three flat tires. How in the world did this happen? He called me so I could check to see exactly how much we had in our checking account. He told me what he needed and fortunately we had just enough money in there to cover it. The problem is, we don't see another check coming in until Jan 13. Until then we will be living on love I guess. What a time for this to happen. Have you ever notice that these things happen when you can least afford it?

That's terrible. I hope he wasn't in a police chase and they put down the 'stinger'.

I think there are nails or something else on the road. Probably a truck has just traveled on the stretch of road, and dropped some nails. It is certainly very annoying, but he is lucky that the three flat tires do not cause any life-threatening danger. Once my colleague was driving quite far behind a truck carrying stones. The truck stopped suddenly, and some stones dropped off the truck. A large stone hit the windscreen, and broke it.

@scheng1 He finally told me that he went through a construction site so it sounds like you are correct. In any case we ended up buying three new tires and they sure aren't cheap these days.

Oh no, how did you get 3 flat tires all at once. Did your husband realize he had a flat far from home or just when you left your home, or wherever he was. Did someone slash his tires? Back in high school - I had someone try to slash my tires but the rubber of my tires were strong and all you can see is the knife mark. I was able to drive on those tires for a long time though. Tires are expensive.

Wow, what a very strange thing to happen. Did you guys ever learned how it happened - were there any tell-tale signs of intentional punctures on the 3 tires? I know what you mean about facing unexpected and totally surprising expenses that are totally out of budget, but very necessary that we have no choice but to rearrange our budget to make do for the moment. If it's any consolation, time will fly fast and soon it will be payday. If you have a credit card, you can also use it for the mean time so you will not be running low on funds and pay it in full once the check arrives. I know credit cards can be very tricky and may be more trouble than help, but I am sure you know which one will work best for you.

@Raine38 I was lucky, I received a payment from HubPages last night that I forgot all about. I was sure glad to see it. Now we don't have to live on love for 3 weeks. He ran over stuff in a construction site.
