My Accident

Lori brought to my mind when one day I was on my way to work and only one block from my home when Pow my car was pushed across the street to the curb. At first I had no idea what had happened then I understood someone had hit my car. I looked around and saw this lady with three kids in the back of her old car, she was backing out and never looked to see if another car was coming. I went over to see if everyone was okay. An older couple came out of the house and it was the grandparents. The lady and I exchanged insurance carriers, which we had the same carrier and drivers licenses, I wrote down her name. The lady wanted to drive off but I said no I am contacting the police for a report on this so she went on into the grandparents house. Something seemed strange as she kept coming back out and wanting to leave and I told her we are waiting on the police. The police came and made a report then I went back home and called my insurance agent. My car was driverable but the one side was dented in. After a few days my insurance agent called and said she never heard from this lady's agent and she was going to call and find out why. That same day my agent called back and said the lady who hit me never contacted her agent (her agent told mine her and her husband were going to be dropped) as they keep having accidents and that is probably why she never did contact her agent.

I am glad no one was hurt but you think she would start driving a bit more carefully with three children to think about x

She didn't seem to be concerned about her children at all, go figure.

@shellyjaneo If my children were in the car i would have been more concerned with them being okay than my vehicle.

@Marcyaz Well that explains a lot, more concerned about having to pay out for the insurance. If I crashed with Vinnie in the car even if it was just a bump I would be a mess x

No and I was concerned for those children even though she didn't seem to be.

sounds like she is not fit to drive as sooner or later someone could get really hurt or worse

So did her agent pay for the damage to your car?

Oh yes they did pay for the damage to my car and also paid for a rental car for me while mine was being repaired. Our insurance was with the same company which made it even better for me.

It seems to me that this lady either shouldn't be driving at all or she shouldn't have her kids in the car with her when she drives. To have so many accidents that the insurance would drop her is not a good thing.

I would image that her license has now been pulled and they probably can't even buy any insurance now.

I am so glad I made that call and waited for the police as the damages to my vehicle were quite expensive and as her car was really old the only thing wrong with hers was her back bumper was caved in a bit.

So glad you were not injured Marcy. The exact same happened recently to my Mom and she also was pushed very hard but not injured luckily. The lady who hit her had no insurance, was driving someone elses truck and had a suspended license.

Oh no and no insurance with a suspended license and someone elses vehicle, she may just be in some deep trouble with the law then. Glad your mom was not injured. @TiarasOceanView

It sure was not common to me since I had never been in an accident before.
