Still on borrowed time

It's 6:30am and I can use The Boy's laptop while he sleeps. Thank goodness teenagers are not early risers.
I am nearly convinced the problem with my computer is the power supply, and I am going to see if I can cannibalize one of the older and unused computers to find a power supply that is compatible. It's too early to start putting my hands deep into computer guts right now, so that will be later in the day.
It didn't snow very much overnight but it's coming down fast and furious now. Actually, as the temps rise it is turning to ice pellets. But we've hit 32 F and things will soon change to rain. I hope it goes to the all rain stage soon as I am expecting a grocery delivery and I don't want ice on the stairs when they arrive. So today, it would be helpful if they were a little late.
While I have the laptop, I am going to try to catch up on myLot a bit.
Laptop is such a silly name. I honestly cannot use it on my lap. My lap is not the right height. It's not flat enough,. It's not steady enough, it shifts and sways every time I get an itch on my big toe. I have the laptop on my desk with a mouse and keyboard attached. That makes it a very slim desktop with a useless keyboard in the way, forcing the screen too far for comfortable viewing. I really hate this thing,. I really need to buy one for me.
So, while on borrowed time, I must hurry to accomplish all my computing goals and I hope to see you all on my working desktop later if I can switch out the power supply.

If I put my laptop on my lap I would melt! They get a little too hot and mine is 19 inch.

@Rollo1 Still would rather have a laptop than a desk top.

I wish you luck, even though the power supply is not all that expensive, it could be more than that

I am using mine on my lap right now. It is so nice. I hope you find a power supply that works.

I hope you are able to get your computer up and running. I agree about a laptop not being very comfortable to use in your lap. I have a mouse attached to mine and just use it like a desktop. I love my laptop as I can take it with me anywhere we go.

It was closer to 34 here, but still snowing. We got the ice chunks and slush out of the end of the driveway earlier today with both my husband and myself working on it. He was worried it would turn to ice and then we couldn't get out. I wasn't too worried, but it was a mess from when the street plows went by in the night.
I know people that work on their laptops when watching tv in the living room and I'm sure it sits on their laps, but maybe not easily. I only have a desktop and tablet. It's hard to type quickly on the tablet, so I mainly mylot on my computer instead.

I find using a laptop difficult. It's good that you can use it to access the Internet though.

I agree on the laptop theory, I have mine on a table next to me with a mouse attached. I can't for the life of me use that thingy on the laptop, lol.

I hope it is just the power cord...that would be a cheap and easy fix....

I don't have a laptop but I don't have a lap either so I guess it wouldn't be functional LOL
