Crunches, crunches and more crunches. You can loose fat in just one spot by working the muscle underneath. Hate to say it but its true. There is no such thing as "10 min. ab workout to get shredded" with some fitness model telling you that's what he does. If they do then their flat out liars. But, I can tell you how and it actually only take a couple of mins. HIIT. High Intensity Interval Training. It sounds complicated but it's actually very simple. Here's how. Run down the road at almost full speed (don't run to fast right off the bat) until you completely run out of breath and cant go no more. Stop. Catch your breath. Now run home fast and your done. Yup, that's right your done. How does this work? Well I hate to break the news to you but if you spent an hour straight jogging you "may" burn 500 calories (4075 cal. to a lb of fat). But by running till exhausted your body thinks your being chased by a wild animal so as a precaution your body burns calories even when your not doing anything so it can respond better.

No. Its harder for a 55 year old, 340lb mom of two, who's had two knee surgeries just from being over weight let alone working out. She still works out and yes she runs as I have described on days she cant make it to the gym. You just have to find out what works best for you and run with it. It's tough for the elderly if their in an advanced aging stage. Like my 86 year old grandmother who has a hard time walking. So, instead she swims. Best thing for your joint and cardio system And she doesn't go nuts swimming either just wanna throw that in there. lol

I have heard about interval training, but running does not work for me--health issues. Stationary bike is something I could do though.

Everybody is different. If that's what works for then do it. and build on it. A lot of men over weight will work manual labor sometimes and I put the on the bicycle because its easy on the knees. Not to mention your body see's that there's a lot of movement in the knee so it releases more synovial fluid (lubricant) for the joint.
