Baking Focaccia

We went out to Italy grocery shopping, early in the afternoon.
I have bought salami and prosciutto to make sandwiches for lunch.
Back home, I decided that, instead to use a normal bread, I could bake some small Italian focaccia (flatbreads).
The dough is the same that we knead to make the white bread, with the addition of a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. It is also necessary to brush the focaccia with olive oil before baking in the oven.
The small focaccia are delicious stuffed with cold cuts. I always bake more than I need, so I can freeze some for later.
Have you ever tried focaccia?
I am posting a photo to show you how they look like.

I never heard of it before. Don't forget I'm not much of a baker either so I won't be making that!

@TheHorse Years ago it was impossible to find the culatello outside of its region of origin (Emilia-Romagna), my Mom was born there, so it's something that I appreciated since I was a kid. It is true that we slice the cold cuts very thin.

I have bought Focaccia Bread in the bakery. Also many years ago made it and its easy, but its even easier to make a loaf of bread in my bread maker.

@LadyDuck I laughed about putting the bread in the oven, as most of the time I'm not looking for more heat in the house. Years ago when I lived in a different state I used my oven a lot, as it added warmth to the room.

@Fishmomma I even have a wood fired oven (it's a pizza oven) and the bread is excellent baked there.

I am not into the tradtional Italian food we have here so I doubt that I have gotten into this. Would love to eat some of the other things besides spaghetti. I am not a noodle lover.

None of this is prepared here in our Indian kitchens. We have our own cuisine. I would not mind trying out though

That sounds delicious! Do you add cheese on top when baking your focaccia bread?

@infatuatedbby Well, many Italian dishes are not the real thing in the United States. This is surely an American variation.

@LadyDuck it really is, and I am not entirely sure if it's "real". it was like 8 something for a handful of slices the one time I did find it...
