Do you like dogs or cats more as your pets and why do you say that ?

I still remember that I git a cat at home when I was young. The cat's main function in my house was to catch mouse. However, the cats seemed never caught any mouses and just spent her own time to walk around in the house, sleeping and doing nothing except eating her fish meals everyday. After this experience, I don't think I like cats that much. Sometimes, I enjoy watching puppies walking on the street with their masters. They look nice and cute until they started to do their PP or BM. Thus, I feel that I don't mind playing with them but taking care of dogs really needs lots of time and money as well. So, I think I better remain a pet free person and just enjoy watching dogs and cats once awhile. What about you ? Do you like dogs or cats more ? Share with us.

Growing up we had more dogs than we did cats. My dad was allergic to cats and my mom was more a dog person anyway. We did have one cat that would sleep on my dad's pillow when he was at work. I think I was around 2 or 3 at the time. A few years after that, we had a cat that was mostly an outdoor animal. Was not even ours but we "Adopted" it by feeding it. We would occasionally let the animal in, but only if my dad was at work.
I prefer cats because they are easier to maintain but I do love both dogs and cats. I even had a frog once...

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yes, they are much much more loyal than cats as well. You make me think of a quote I heard once. Something about lock your wife and your dog in the truck together. See which one is happy to see you!

"A cat is just easier than a dog." Cats may take care of themselves but they are sure to wake you up at five o'clock in the morning because they have not yet been fed for the morning and they've been up for like three hours.

I am a cat person, just look at my avatar and username. I have 2 cats living with me. I do have a dog though, I have this very manly and scary looking American Bulldog and I named him Kitty.
Well I have a cat named Doggy for the sake of Irony.

I wonder why people wanted to abuse pets, If they don't like them , they don't have to get one in their house. But as long as they become their master, they need to love them.

i think cats and dogs are the same for me. they are both like furry toddlers, always begging for love and attention, and they just want to play. cats are easier to take care of because they have their own toilet and they can go on their own, while dogs, you have to take them out and walk them to make sure they do it. but dogs are fun to take out places, if they allow dogs, and you have someone to hang out with if you are alone. they both like car rides.

Common asked question that I love. I will always like dogs better as they are just so much more interesting to me. Not to say I respect the crap out of a cat. Just dogs are better friends with personality, but also a lot more work. I can see why people would like cats more.

Cats. If they are smart cats. I like them when they are a bit independent and talk to me when I talk to them, and I can play games with them like fetch the mouse and things like that. I can't abide animals who are dumb, be they cats or dogs - my wonderful fluffy calico is enough for me.
