Kids Are Funny

I don't have to tell you that kids say funny things. You never know what they're going to come out with. My grandson is 7 years old and when they came on Christmas Day he had on a beautiful navy blue pullover sweater with a nice design on it. I must say he looked quite dapper. When I commented on his sweater he said " I'm so happy I got an ugly Christmas sweater" from Santa. Our family is in to those ugly Christmas sweaters so I'm assuming he thought he was now part of the crowd!! My daughter in law just laughed and shrugged her shoulders as if to say..."at least he's happy to wear it"

The only problem with kids are that they grow up and become adults and stop saying cute things!

That is funny. I was told not long ago by my daughter that she had to go and find an ugly Christmas sweater for a party. She was attending an ugly Christmas sweater party. Do you think he got it from there. I had no idea what it was and made her tell me. She told me I am out of touch and have been living on an island way too long. Haaa she is going to be 40 this next year and she is telling me this. She is funny but her kids are even funnier when it come to telling you stuff.

@poehere ugly Christmas sweaters is a big thing and my sons family went to a party before Christmas. My grandson had an ugly Christmas sweater to wear to the party that lived up to it's reputations. However, the sweater he got from Santa was nowhere near ugly but he just assumed that's what sweaters are called. I'm still laughing.

@Marilynda1225 That one is funny. I guess kids can say funny things. One time my grandson was taking forever in the bathroom. He ran from the table to go to the toilet. I went to see if he was OK. He was sort of jumping up and down on the toilet seat. I asked him what he was doing. He looked at me with his big blue eyes and told me Grammy Ann my poo poo is sleeping I need to wake it up. I laughed so hard and I never forgot this one. He was only 3 when he told me this one. Not long ago I reminded him of this now that he is 12 and he had a good laugh on this one.

I am sure that he hears other family members talking about ugly Christmas sweaters and thinks "ugly" is just part of the name of this item of clothing and that he was truly pleased.

What looks handsome and dapper to one person is an ugly sweater to another. I'm glad he was happy to wear it and be 'part' of the crowd.

Kids are doing funny things they are not aware of. They still have innocent minds and so they don;t whether their actions lead to mistake or not. We should guide them anyway on the right track
