I have been thinking about starting a Blog for sometime now. A combination between crafting and recipes. I am here now asking what you think of it. It should be fun but do you think people will actually be interested in a blog like this? I also need suggestions on who to go through to set it all up. I need someplace that is easy to understand and not real complicated. What do you think?

I had a blog before but got rid of it as it is very demanding to have fresh content all the time and bring in the traffic. Without traffic, the blog goes nowhere.

@marlina that is what I am concerned about - getting the traffic.

Blogs are great reads but they are quite a bit of work if you mean to be serious about it and earn money from it. I have one and I have not touched it in months. I was really gung ho for several months but after blogging and joining several blog hops for new friends and of course views. It took quite a bit of time away from my other money making sites and I just gave it up.

@HazySue It did that for me. I joined several blog hops and FB jumps and Twitter things and it took quite a bit of time.

@Shellyann36 I wondered about the time spent on it. I can imagine it would take me away more that I might want it to from my money making sites.

I have a few places you can start a blog with. One is Blogger. Another one is Weebly and another one that is called BlogJob. That last one is like a social blogging site. You also earn from your blogs there. I hope this helps.

@HazySue I've published 7 posts today including 2 posts in English in another blog. It's hard to tell yourself to write on a daily basis. I think blogging is my motivation exercise then.

I am interested in both crafting and recipes, especially I like recipes much more. In fact I also have a blog about my successful recipes. I like to share it with people who enjoy cooking. Today it is very easy to make a blog as most of them provide the template and all you have to do is to add the images and contents.

The blog that I have right now is a self-hosted Wordpress blog, but when I started blogging, I went with Blogger. I found it was really easy to set up and use, and it was easy to find bloggers with my same interests that I could form a community with.

It sounds like a wonderful idea, but when I need a recipe I go to one particular site only. I don't know about the rest of the cooks around, but hopefully you will gain a sense of that.

@HazySue Right, I would wonder the same thing on how to establish that following otherwise its a lot of work for an unknown number of readers.

@Juliaacv you have to develop a following. It is something that I am not sure how to do.

It sounds like fun. I'd like to start one about vintage stereo gear or acoustic guitars. But getting one started isn't something I've researched.

People like all kinds of strange things no telling sometimes its the things that you think are least likely to be liked are the ones that are liked the most. Wordpress and Tumblr are free places to have a blog you might want to start there and experiment with it see how you like it and go from there.
