Forever nervous about pictures of me. / myLot

I'm really shy. That's the truth. That's why I don't have many pictures of me online. Usually for the most part I use avatars over "real" pictures of me. Well long story short I just put a real picture of me on here. Am I nervous about it? Of course I am but it's a new year, and a new me so I'm working on REALNESS and I think that starts with me using a REAL picture of me. How do you feel about pictures of you? Are you comfortable with putting picture of yourself online?

@Missmwngi I am a photographer and do not get on the lens side of the device, that is why I didn't like my pictures. I simply learned to live with it.

I don't feel comfort put my pictures online. Not because I'm shy but I just don't feel comfort especially on social media. Usually it's my friends tagging me in the pictures that we take together, I'm fine with that.

To succeed in the on-line world you need to get over your shyness of having your picture out there, people want to know what you look like. I used to be shy about that because I prefer to be the other side of the lens, taking the pictures. It was something that I had to get over.

I agree. I remember when I was writing on Yahoo Contributor Network and that was the first time I HAD to have a real picture of me online. It was really scary for me.

@Bellatricks Today I tend to prefer using software generated cartoons. That reminds me I need to change the photo I use here because I have a better one.

In fact I upload quite a lot of our photos online so that I can share them with my friends easily. I have an online photo album. However, I seldom use my own photo as the avatar. I don't really know why. Perhaps I don't want the strangers to know what I look like. By the way, you look pretty and you shall know it

I'm okay with pictures but I rarely do it. Honestly, some of my photos are not the most flattering.

I have no liking for taking pictures, and I do not take any picture of myself to upload anywhere. Rest assured that not everyone likes to have their pictures paste everywhere online.

I use the one I've used for some time now, I'm thinking of changing mine but I'll see. I'm kinda shy about it, sometimes you just have to do it.

I wasn't comfortable with doing so when I first started, but I have put a few photos out now, if they are relevant to what I'm writing. I'm not going to change my avatar though. You look lovely, nice to see you.

I know what you mean. I never put up pictures of myself online. I'm sure other have put up pictures of me in group pics though. You look lovely by the way.

Wow! You are so beautiful! I was comfortable before. I used to believe I'm beautiful. My sister laughed when I told her that. It's true but few years ago, I noticed an abrupt change. I am no longer beautiful! This is the result of getting older. I just realized I'm not really beautiful.

I don't mind sharing my real photo, I think it helps us connect on a more personal level here in myLot. I like to get to know people here on myLot a little bit.
