Most people meet the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and mission. this year I am just hoping to get through the next 366 days without breaking down.
My son 4 year old son, Noah, is scheduled to have a major surgery done this year and it will come with 4-6 months of physical / occupational therapy 4-5 days a week after. My wife and I both work full time and it's a juggling act just making normal life happen after you add in our 1 year old twins as well.
This surgery will almost certainly give him a better quality of life and help in the long run, but making it all happen and making the most of it is where the problem lies.
So here's to 2016, i hope you have great plans for it. We'll just be trying to survive lol.
Happy New year!

You know I don't know your situation with your four year old son, but God does, and He will give you the strength you need to get through the days and months ahead. I don't know where your faith is, but if you don't have any, I'll have some for you and pray for everything to go well during the surgery and your son will receive the quality of life he deserves. I will also keep you in prayer for your jobs that nothing happens to them, and you will gain favor with your employers. No one stands alone in a crisis when God stands with you.
A verse in Isaiah and 1 Peter says: "By His stripes we were healed." That is my prayer for you and your family as you face these days ahead.
I understand the worry and stress you face. Take a sheet of paper and write down your situation, then put that piece of paper somewhere safe and do not look at it again. Give your situation completely to God and watch Him take care of it. When you see the answer to prayer, open that piece of paper and give God thanks for all He has done for you. Begin today to thank Him for taking care of your son and you and your finances.
I will too.

My husband and I also worked opposite shifts. It's what you do when you have kids. Much good luck with the surgery I hope Noah is greatly improved.

@bobo2500 It does spending half your paycheck for child care, and then there's the worry that your kids are being treated right. That alone made me switch shifts so my kids would be safe and with one of their parents. You make many sacrifices for your kids, it's what parents do. Every sacrifice is well worth the peace of mind that your kids are safe.

Who watches your kids for you when you're both working?
When our kids were little I either didn't work, or I did my best to work opposite of hubby's hours so one of us was always home with them.
