Shocked and Amazed

For the first time ever on this site, I have seen a cheater. This individual posted five comments in a row under one of my posts. In each one, he wrote only one word, “Great.” I guess he really liked the post (not). I thought it might have been some sort of glitch on his part, but then I noticed that they were written hours apart. I believe it must have been intentional. So also for the first time, I clicked on “report” under one of his comments. I then looked around “Help” in order to find a way to leave a message about what this guy had done. I thought perhaps staff would only see the one post I flagged, and wonder what was wrong. But I could not figure out how to leave a message, so I went back to my post to find the offender. I wanted to block him, another new thing for me. But, to my shock and amazement, all of his comments were gone. This is impressive. It must have been just a matter of moments. Staff is really on their toes around here. Happy New Year to them all, (as well as to anyone reading this little article).

I have also noticed how fast myLot is in responding to things like this. After so much trouble at the B place and the unending length it took them to fix anything. It's positively refreshing to see how amazingly fast myLot is to weed this mess out and get rid of it.

It was a man from India. The name was short, but I don't remember what it was.

It does make you wonder doesn't it why the other site could not seem to get a handle on these things. I realize the numbers were greater but only becasue they allowed it to happen which encouraged others. Coming here to cheat is not wise!!

@ElizabethWallace True but why did it take days for cheaters to be removed?

I had the same thing - someone put 'good' three times on my post. I thought it might just be ignorance so gave him/her the benefit of the doubt. I explained why it was wrong, and where to read the rules. Those comments are now gone, including my own, so admin agreed with you.

I saw this person leaving one word ("good") comments all over the place. Not sure if he/she was actively cheating or just out of his depth with an unfamiliar language. Well done to the staff for their quick response.

@ElizabethWallace - That sounds like someone who has no idea about how sites like this work. I hope he's a one-off.

He left this comment five or six times under one of my posts. That is not a language problem, I think.

I have noticed in the past what an excellent response rate exists here. I had a comment on a discussion of mine earlier today that simply comprised of "good". Needless to say I was not impressed, but as it was first time I overlooked it.

The offender under my post was quite obvious. If the time stamps had been one right after the other, I might have assumed it was a case of holding down a key or something. But there were several hours between the comments.

No avatar and just a 'good' here. Sort of creepy if you ask me. Glad that you flagged him. We don't need that here.

I haven't seen this one yet. Guess they haven't gotten around to some of the stuff I have written or commented on. I have no idea at all on this one. Plus do you really think this is cheating. I sort of don't understand how it can be cheating. He is leaving behind comments on post but does he actually get paid for one word comments if nobody responds back to him. You see that is where the pay rules are a little unclear. I have read them time and again and it seems to come down to this one. If you write a post and nobody is interested in this or responds to it it is more than likely you won't get paid on this. This is not word for word. So it also says about comments and responding to post. It is basically the same. If you respond to a post and the person interacts or comments back on your response then it shows interests then you will earn on this. This is how I see it here on this site. So basically if a person goes around just leaving one word comments on a lot of posts how is he earning? I don't get this at all.

Things seem to get quickly removed. I noticed that my comment posted twice on discussion yesterday. I deleted one, but it made me wonder if it happened other times without me noticing.

Twice right after each other is an obvious glitch or mistake. Five or six times over a period of seven hours is not.

I have had someone lately leaving a comment good on some of my posts but he/she has only done it one time on each post. Wonder why they can't say more than good, makes me wonder if they even speak English.
