This kind of dillema for me for years.
Do you treat your friend on your birthday?
Until today I still have some friends who will give me birthday greetings and then asking me for a treat. It's s common thing here, at least from what I see around. The birthday person treat their friends.
Then my boy friend found out about, he is not happy that I spent money to treat others on my birthday while it's me who supposed to get the treat because it's my birthday I think the only treat I get on my birthday is from BF so far
Somehow I agree with my bf, it's logic, right? I have stopped treating friends for 3 years now. But some times I feel wrong because my friends will treat me on their birthdays
What about you, guys?

That is something they do in Germany too, I remember when I was home in 2013 for my Mom's 90th birthday, she picked up the tab for the coffee and cakes in the afternoon and then also the dinner in the evening. I know there were at least 50 people there.

Your mom must be a really friendly person that 50 people come to her birthday
I would broke if I have to treat more than 10 people

@mrswhitfield I do have to say that this only happens on the milestone birthdays like 70, 80, 90 etc., not on regular ones.

I don't agree with your boyfriend. because Courtesy calls for reciprocity.
I think you guys can change the way around. To make it a common thing that the birthday person is always the one being treated.
Or you can buy her / him a birthday gift if your friend treat you on their birthdays.

nope people treat me on my birthday and I treat them on theirs. I do know that Asians do treat people on their birthday. I had a friend who did that once for me.

You have to look at it as the best thing to do think if they treat you on their birthdays wouldn't it feel right to do the same.
