Walker's Wotsits

United States

One of the items that I had imported to me are the "Wotsits" from Walker's. Walker's is the fraternal twin of Lay's. Oh and "Wotsits" for those who are wondering, are cheese snacks. Similar in size to American Cheetos. I was curious about how these would taste. If I am not mistaken, Lays does not make cheese snacks like these. Utz and Frito Lay make our cheese puff snacks. Oh and whoever makes Cheetos. Let me just say a few things about the Wotsits. They are delicious. Not only are they delicious but they are not overpowered in taste. Most of the cheetos type snacks here are over flavored with cheese and are also not quite filling. You always end up eating more because they don't fill you up. The wotsits had a very light flavor of cheese and honestly I didn't think I was going to be able to finish the snack sized bag. I don't remember how much this package of wotsits cost me but I will be looking into getting more imported in the future. I'm not big on cheese snacks, but these I think I could eat and enjoy. It begs the question though... What is the FDA letting into our food? (US products)

I agree - they are fantastic. Walkers are the market leaders in the UK and we are the worlds greatest crisp eaters. Not something to be proud about but it's good to be #1 at anything these days.

If these wotsits are anything to go by, the crisps you have over there are much healthier than what we have. From what I've seen online, Walker's does not put out the crazy flavored chips like Lay's does for us. We have things like "Southern biscuits and gravy" or "Gyro Pita" as flavors for our lay's chips.

@boiboing I saw a prawn flavor and cheese and onion but that is about all the crazy flavors I saw available to be shipped here. I am tempted to try the prawn flavored but am just not sure. I saw another company that has steak flavored ones? I don't remember the company off hand though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We have plenty of crazy flavours. I used to work for one of their flavour suppliers and you'd be amazed at the stuff we came up with.

How expensive was that to have them shipped?

I used the site britishcornershop.co.uk The shipping and handling was cheaper as a Christmas special. It's now gone up but from what I have seen they still offer the cheapest shipping around. There's another store I'd like to try but you have to be home and able to sign for the package with them. Plus shipping is exorbitant for the other site. I paid $30.98 for everything. Everything was 1 package of micvities fruit cookies, one six pack of snack size wotsits, a christmas fruit cake, a package of jammie dodgers (which are amazing by the way. My local store stopped carrying them), A package of orange Penguin chocolates. Yeah I think that was it. So yes it's a wee bit pricey but they also offer a rewards program. You accrue points per each dollar you spend i believe. Anyway, sorry for the long response. I don't remember how much I paid for the shipping and I threw away the itemized list.

I like Cheetos. I am really particular about anything with cheese in it or cheese on its own. Do not like strong flavors. These snacks that you mention sound interesting. I am in the US and so I don't know if I will ever taste any. Glad you enjoy them.

@ScribbledAdNauseum ...Sounds interesting. I like chocolate better and would probably spend extra for that rather than cheese.

Well you know that I am in the US as well. I had to get them imported to me, and it was a bit costly. I am very weird about my cheese as well. If it's "stringy" I'm not a fan. I do like string cheese though. I think you'd like them celtic, they are not as strong as our cheese snacks.

I find that the cheetos and cheese type snacks that we offer are too cheesy. Sometimes even too salty. I loved them as a kid, but not so much as an adult. These I had imported in from the UK.
