Yep, it's like Britney's hit song "Oops, I did it again", people still went ahead and celebrated New Year's Eve dangerously. It's OK to light fireworks, but doing it while under the influence of alcohol will definitely take you to a situation you wouldn't want to be into. Also, police have already issued a list of prohibited fireworks and still, people went ahead and bought them. It's a good thing that the number of casualties this New Year's celebration was less than the previous year. Maybe it's because of stricter policies and higher costs of fireworks. How about you guys, did you celebrate New Year with a bang?

It is illegal to buy or sell fireworks in Australia but many of the capital cities and major towns put on firework displays on special occasions. There were many injuries and accidents with fireworks when I was little before they bought in the bans.

I sure hope that kind of law be implemented here in my country. We could definitely use it. With all these accidents involving fireworks, some are really gruesome, I'm surprised people still buy powerful fireworks that could cause them real harm.

I didn't celebrate New Year, and I am glad I didn't hear much of fireworks in my neighborhood on new year eve, so I got to sleep well throughout the whole night.
I guess some people just didn't learn from the mistakes and still like to take the risks and think they will be fine.
