There're people who write, want to write just because it's their hobby. There are few who write because they've something to say to the world. Some people write to earn money. When you live alone and don't have anyone to talk to during the day, sites like this make you feel like you are communicating with others.

I have to agree with @AnneEJ. I mean I like to write, and want to write. I've always wanted to be a published author but for some reason have lost the passion recently. But I am alone a lot and like to connect with other people.

@vickyblogs I have a few different stories in mind but don't want to start another until I finish the first (actually the second because I put the first one on the back burner and now don't know if I will ever get back to it).

@vickyblogs If you are going to publish a book then you will need to hire a professional editor to remove the Indian faux pas from your script.

Keep working. You'll get opportunities. I'm just going to publish a book on a spiritual subject.

I was a writer before there was an internet - this just gives me more readers than I could have dreamt of in the 1980's.

There is one reason I write on-line - because I enjoy doing it. I do earn money from my on-line writing, but not enough to pay the bills, although I live in hope that will change some day.

I definitely write for $$. It's not like I'm going to write the next bestseller so I write for profit whenever I can - right now have an assignment that needs 1K words on migraines. Not exciting but it's nice to cash out at the end of the month.

Mainly for money, but also because I like to write. While the subject is not that important, I just want to put down the thought on the subject matter.

I write online because I went to share my insights to the world. It will be better if there will be a monetary benefit included.

I started writing on line to make money. And I have, over the years. But it's harder now and being part time at it is a challenge.

Sure, It's a great challenge when you take up writing assignments as a part-time writer with deadlines. If there's no challenge, no achievements.

There are many people who come to online and write and it's both hobby as well as for earning money. Left the social media where people go to enjoy. Other websites people write to show about them self. Many are promoting their products, services etc.
