One afternoon I had a day off from work since I had been working a lot of overtime and decided to go out to a restaurant a few blocks from where I lived. It was pretty crowded but they had a table for two and I was seated there. I ordered a cup of coffee and a water and then the next thing I hear this voice above me asking me if I was waiting for someone, I said no so this man asked if he could sit with me as they had no seat for him. Well I said yes he could join me and we got to talking then ordered our food and continued talking about various things and then we exchanged email addresses. That evening I received a nice note from him in my email. This went on for a while and since he was building a website and needed some help I offered so he asked me to do some research, which I did. About 3 months went by and he was coming back to town (he lived up in the mountains in CA) and asked if we could meet up. I said okay why not. We spent a whole day together just going around town and had a great time. We went on this way for about a year or so and then he asked me to marry him. After a time we decided since his sister was by herself that we would move to . Oklahoma to be near her, so here I go again packing again and away we went. He was not only my husband but my best friend and Soul Mate. No he wasn't perfect but he was a good person and always treated me good. I loved living in Oklahoma and he took me all over that State to see the beauty there. Did I tell you he was disabled but he always had something to do, like mowing the grass, repairing what needed to be done. He had been a bachelor for a number of years so he could also cook, clean house and do laundy and he was good at it which was not something I was used to in a man. We were only married for eleven years when he passed away right in front of me, I couldn't stay in my house after that and when my son and his wife asked me if I wanted to come back to Arizona and stay with them I said yes so I sold most of my furnishings and my home. Then when my sons job went down the tubes because of the economy he found a job out of state and was working in the Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota area they sold their home and we all moved up here.

I was surprised one day when we were in a store and a lady was trying to communicate with the lady at the desk through sign language, my husband was able to communicate what she was saying and signed to her also. I had no idea he knew sign language.

So sorry to read of the loss of your dear soulmate. I know you loved him very much Marcy. It must have been devastating to lose him. Then you also had to leave AZ to move to Minn. I am glad you now have your family around you there in the house. And the animals for company. You certainly must have loved Oklahoma. I am glad to know you had the time you did with a good man.

@/tiarasOceanView It was devastating and I was in shock for a long time. I had to move as every time I looked at one spot I saw him laying there and it broke my heart over and over again.

How old were you when you married again? I'm so glad that he turned out better than your first husband and that you had those 11 good years.

@jaboUK I was 59 and he was 65 so even old timers can fall in love and have a happy marriage, not just the young people.

He sounded like a very nice man. I'm glad you found someone good after the kind of man you were first married to. I'm sorry he too passed and you found yourself uprooted yet again. So are you still in the Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota area?

I'm so sorry about you losing your husband. I know from your description of him that he was a wonderful person and I'm sure that you miss him a lot. Like you, I've moved from state to state but for different reasons. I've actually enjoyed the experience, and I've been able to adjust to new circumstances each time. I don't want to move again though. I'm pretty much satisfied with where I am now and hope that I won't need to move again. Being close to family is important, which I am now and that makes me happy, so I hope you are happy too.
