I remember when the Lord of the Rings movies were released everyone where crazy about them. My friends loves them, My family members loves them and the critics loves them. When I watched every single movie though I am not into it. I don't know why, I love fantasy movies with historical and medieval settings but for some unknown reason I was bored by Lord of the Rings. I also remember the popularity of the Twilight movies, I don't have the stomach to finish a single Twilight movie because some woman I dated before wanted to watch it but I find watching it torturing.

Hunger games have racist casting. Katniss is Multiracial in the book. It is just a boring PG rip off version of the cool Japanese novel/movie Battle Royale.

@arthurchappell Battle Royale almost got a Hollywood remake but Hunger games crushed it's chances. I am not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing,

@CaptAlbertWhisker yes I got the Battle Royale angle quickly on watching the first film - never read the books so only picked up on the movie's racist-casting from the backlash to that in the media

Most may not agree...but transformers. 1movie=good, the second = a little better. everything else made me dislike transformers on a whole.

The fans of the source materials said the transformers movies ruined their childhood.

Would be the Harry Potter series for me. The Transformers movies are really popular as well and I thought the first two were so boring I couldn't bear to watch any more! Also, I found the Lord of the Rings a bit slow. I preferred the Hobbit movies.

The Hobbit movies are actually the prequel of the Lord of the Rings movies. I watched all of those movies because my family loves them.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the movies being lengthy?

I'm pretty sick of the Harry Potter films. Saw the first and didn't bother after that.

I heard there will be a West end play and another movie. I think they were waiting for the actors to turn 40 so they can make movie with them being older.

I often like the first movie, but don't feel the need to get into any of the further stories. I can enjoy watching them if I happen to watch them, but I don't go out of my way to do so. I did like Lord of the Rings, but it's not part of my all time favorites list. I never saw any of the Twilight movies and somehow don't care to. The first couple Harry Potters were fun, but it just got to be too much HP. That's what it is - I don't need an overkill of these stories as some of them go on and on. Oh, I always liked the original Star Wars, but wasn't a fan enough to care about the rest (even though I saw them all). I did see The Force Awakens and for once I AM curious about what happens next.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Oh gosh - George Lucas was heading in the wrong direction with those prequels. Bleh. I actually liked the older Anakin - but didn't like Natalie Portman's acting in it (and I like her acting otherwise) - and the costumes were crazy. I read about that child Anakin - yah, he's all messed up. But I heard it was because he was off his meds as he has schizophrenia? In any case, The Force Awakens was refreshing - I know people complain it's too much rehashing of the original - but I think that was necessary to get back to the Star Wars roots since the prequels ruined it. Hey, Happy New Year to you!!!

I think the Force Awakens is a huge improvement from the prequel series. Most of the actors from the prequel series not named Natalie Portman got their careers ruined. I thik some fans should not blame actors, Starwars fans bullying the child actor playing Anakin ruined his life. he is recently arrested and he blamed the wrong things about his life to Starswars

The only franchise that I loved watching was Pirates of Carribean. Though I did not appreciate the last part of it. Harry Potter was all good until the last two segments (for me). Lords of the Rings got too lengthy to watch and killed my interest. I could not finish the third and final episode. James Bond... Sean Connory, Brosnan - they were the reasons behind my watching the movies. Once Brosnan said bye, I never got into any Bond movie.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I have to agree. In order to make the Bond series/movie a success with the Black Actor as Bond, they have to work really hard with the story, the effects and also many other things. I do hope that even if the movie turns out to be a failure, the Brand remains strong enough.

@thesids I think they should try to be sensitive about casting. If they want to have a black hero on screen, they should just adapt stories of heroes that were actually Black like Black Panther ,Blade or Luke Cage. Those as Black heroes who are actually Black. Changing ethnicities of characters is just bad.

I have to be honest, most modern films are rubbish and I wish they would stop turning a bad story into an even worse one by creating a sequel. Hunger Games and Patriot Games certainly fill the criteria.

Hunger games only have 3 books and they end up making 4 movies because they cut the last book into 2. Gullible consumers.

@pgiblett TV shows I think were able to give more justice when it comes to adopting books.

@CaptAlbertWhisker You have to remember the average novel of 80,000 words is too long for a film script because if the made it without cutting it would exceed 10 hours in length. Most films are based on 20,000 word short stories.

I agree with the Lord of the rings. Twilight is okay for me though but I agree that the hype is too much for a simple movie. But I love the battle scene in breaking dawn. Transformer is not that great or perhaps because I'm not a fan of action films.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Cartoons are mostly better than real movies. The story was okay but not something that I would watch all over again. I prefer the books. Twilight is so ordinary and very predictable. You should try watching breaking dawn.

@Auntylou During the Prime of this book. It became very popular to married women and women on their 30's so it leads to many people assuming all women loves these silly books.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Never seen the film nor read the book. I used to get annoyed when the book came out first, and I would be sitting reading something else only to be asked if it was 50 shades!
