I really wish I had thought to save my work

A dream popped into my head that I had written creatively on the old Bub site. I tried using the wayback machine, but without knowing the title of the post, I'm out of luck.
The dream was something I wanted to talk about here. I remember parts of it but I had written it very well before. It was about myself, a long road, and an old couch. For some reason the dream popped into my head because I remember being "unemployed" in the dream and somehow gaining money by sitting with a couple of guys on that old ratty couch.
No, nothing happened, we just sat there in the middle of nowhere getting more and more parched and ravenous. I remember a van came by and they were all for getting in but I said no way.
From now on if I write something I really like I'm saving it!

That sounds like a good idea to me. I did this for a while, but then did not while on Bubbs and I do not save my stuff here. Except for poems.

I never saved anything I wrote here because I trusted the site. Still do. I won't save anything casual, but yes definitely creative pieces.

Do you think if you write on wordpress and it may not be lost. Somehow we cant be sure of what will be. There is one thing with writer is they forget to save their work. I did know people who lost their blogspot over a night. Therefore i choose to save in word, zip file, computer, cloud

I have learned my lesson for sure. I've never thought I would need or want to save my work. I've not used wordpress or blogspot in many years myself. You save your work in a zip file, in the word program and on the cloud?

The best pieces I published on that site were retained in Evernote, but the majority of what I wrote on that site were experiments that were of little value. This was particularly the case when I discovered that despite all my best efforts the SEO was totally irrelevant - it was an inbred community.

It sounds like an "In your dreams" kind of scheme!

dreams really give us interesting stories.. hubby once told me to write down the details of what he dreamed one night, he wanted me to write a book about it coz he thought 'twas really amazing..he couldn't forget that and until now he can still remember it.. i told him to write it all down himself coz i'm too busy and he's just too lazy to do it.. haha

Yeah I keep saying I will save my thoughts and I never did. So I lost good discussions all the time.

Yourself, a long road, and an old couch? Sounds about right. I saved all my more interesting blogs from the bub. Have a file of them.

Since I started writing online in 2009, I have always saved a copy of my work in Word document.
Writing sites come and go, even established ones can shut down suddenly.
The only thing I cannot control is plagiarism.
These thieves are shameless in stealing content.

Oh no, I am so sorry. I haven't lost any writing, but I did loss some videos I made and just recently told someone that I save my writing, videos, and pictures in various places so if something were to happen, I would still have my work.

I learned that lesson the hard way. I have written many things over the years that I wish I would have saved.
