Message from lost relatives

My cousin just got a message from facebook from one of her cousins, she new of but the family lost contact with many years ago. The cousin was the son of my father. He didn't contact me because I go by my married name and so he would not know me. However, I messaged him to let him know I existed. She found out my father died in 2004. You don't have to send your condolences, the man didn't want any part of me when he was alive and went as far as to say I was not his daughter anyhow. His mother kept his father away from his own family and we were never in touch because of it. The last time I saw the creep that I thought was my father was at my grandmother's funeral. He never bothered to show up at his own brothers funeral. Have you ever gotten reacquainted with lost family on facebook or elsewhere?
