Do You Have A myLot Stalker?

stalk·er 'stôk?r/ noun noun: stalker; plural noun: stalkers 1. a person who stealthily hunts or pursues an animal or another person. a person who harasses or persecutes someone with unwanted and obsessive attention. The above definition of the word stalker I copied from the internet. It was the first one of a long list. I'm not famous, I'm just an artist and a mother/wife/, a woman who enjoys life and family, friends and neighbors. I am a woman who enjoys participating in certain on-line opportunities. I email, I search, I text, I write, and I usually enjoy my time on the web. One of the things I do that brings joy to my life is camping. Those of you who knew me as CampInsanity on that other site knows the story. My sister and I went camping together with our children. We have been camping together for about 30 years and we still do it. Our kids are grown now. A few of the children drop in for a week or a few days, some with the grandkids. So who is stalking me? My sister and I were talking about this coming summer on line. When we took down the camp to go home last summer we tossed our old screen (kitchen) tent because it was too hard to set up and take down. Elaine sent me an email with two links for an easy up screen tent for next summer. We made a decision and bought the tent that is in the advertising at the top of most pages as I travel around myLot. (see the photo above) Its a bit spooky that my computer is so concerned about what I do on line that they remind me on a daily basis. Have you been stalked? What have you been doing on-line that your computer will not let you forget about?

I think you do not have the habit of deleting your browsing history or cache. Perhaps you can delete your browsing history today. You will find that the computer runs a bit faster.

Never had a real stalker - I remember camping trips where a girl had a fixation on me and followed me everywhere talking to me incessantly. I used to hide if I saw her approaching

@PainsOnSlate I once hid in a campsite portaloo to avoid her - she was still waiting for me when I came out 20 minutes later

@arthurchappell yikes she was a stalker, a real one. Were you able to get rid of her? (without drowning her?)

Yes, I have. I bought some pajamas and it stocked me. Then I bought some Legos and it did again. It was getting to hair pulling time. Luckily I don't buy a lot online.

I get stalked all the time on-line and it is a little annoying, but so far I haven't have a MyLot stalker. The curious one is from women who start out with the innocent sounding statement "I like you". My profile says I am married, but still you get the approaches, normally after a couple of comments I ignore them and they go away, sometimes I have to unfriend them or ban them.

@PainsOnSlate It was because he had a short fuse and that was the first time I saw it. Lucky for me he found a new girl friend and that was that!

Like Anna, I get stalked from my searches. However, my MacBook Air prevents that.

@PainsOnSlate I only can get Safari on mine. It's so tough, that I can't do certain things. I did get spam recently on my iPad. I called my carrier. They told me to shut it off. It worked. Humph!

I sussed out the price of something the other day and was harassed for a few days. But the stalker must have given up as I haven't seen it for a while and I can't remember what it was.

Hello I remember you. I remember all those camping stories you told us about. I know exactly what you mean whatever you buy online , it keeps popping up on your screen. It has happened with house insurance, kitchen cupboards, certain clothes stores. It makes you laugh because you have already purchased these items. You are not going to double up are you.

Not that I know of - but then If there is someone out there that wants to waste their valuable life and time stalking me, well good on them - if they become a nuisance - I shall report them or something.

By this reasoning I make a lot of money on the internet every day, put out forest fires with Smokey, and use Clinique. So, no, not stalking me yet.
